I know you started an excuse thread for Dak and there are "excuses" but they are also reasons why the over-the-top criticism is bunk. It's the same thing with Romo during his playing days. Most people didn't defend Romo because they thought he was some great QB. They defended him because there were countless posts of how much he sucked and we would never be able to win with him. I was part of that group. Now after he quit playing he was elevated into some sort of QB God, but that's a different story. I think the same thing occurs with most Dak supporters. He is frequently bashed and these stats that get posted sort of speak to the point that he's not as bad as people claim.

What is really wish (and I know this is a pipe dream) is if people would take a step back, take a deep breath, acknowledge they have a bias, figure out what is driving that bias, and make an effort to re-evaluate their opinion with an open mind. I think the overwhelming majority of people would realize he's either not as bad or as good as they believe him to be. If that happened maybe most of the petty arguing would be eliminated and the quality of the board would be improved. Again, I know that's not going to happen, but the place would be a hell of a lot better if it would.

I started that thread mostly as a joke because i just got tired of hearing it. I don't think i have made 2 threads in my entire life that just happenned to be one of them. Dak's a good guy i just see things when i watch him play that say to me he is an average QB, i do wish he would run more because i think he is an above average running QB, but he doesn't or maybe the team doesn't want him to do that. Romo played on some very good teams and didn't get us far in the playoffs. Dak has played on some very good teams that haven't gone far in the playoffs either, the difference is going to be when Dak doesn't have a good team anymore (like 2011-2013) Romo carried those teams and we went 8-8 twice and 8-7 with him once when he missed the last game of the season, none of those teams had the talent that we had on our team last season although 2013 was a prelude to 2014 and maybe if Romo played that last game we win and make the playoffs. I think and it is just my opinion that when our talent starts to erode (and it will happen because of the big deals we have been giving out and not just Dak's) we will see a team with Dak at QB that goes 4-12 to 6-10

2. It's on a scale from 0-100 that's where the average came from.

If we were to use your average the average would change every season. Doesn't make much sense, now does it?

Valid point. This also makes me wonder about Dak as a "thrower of the ball". I mean, neither team seems to be able to CATCH THE D@MN BALL when he throws it. LOL

As for Quincey he spends all his time picking apart little mistakes people make in their responses all the time avoiding any and all ways to answer the questions put to him. It's his MO and has been as long as he's been on this site, which is why nobody really ever pays attention to him

Funny thing is I have gone back to watch games with Romo and he does the exact things people complain about Dak. Dak’s accuracy is nit picked to death now. He was bad his first 2 years but has improved yet every ball that is slightly off target is criticized. Go back and judge Romo by the same standards as Dak is judged and he would be considered inaccurate. I have seen tons of balls slightly behind receivers, as an example. I’d love to have an experiment where we all get together and watch a game on here at the same time and do a game day thread. Romo would get blasted. It shouldn’t be surprising because he was blasted in every game day thread when he was playing too. I just think time has drastically influenced people to believe Romo was better than he actually was. If Dak frustrates you; Romo should have frustrated you too.

Yep, although I scoff and the old eye test, my eyes told me exactly what your post says quite honestly. Dak is easily one of the top Qb's in the league and getting better and better!
We're so fortunate to have a man of his skill and character leading our Cowboys! I can't wait to see him play this year on a better coached team and hopefully better special teams and defense.
I believe this will be the year he jumps into elite status.

Because that was the ESPN list. That’s why. No selective editing-that’s what they listed. I was not taking the time to figure out who was missing
