What is so great about a RT? And who says he is top 3 RT?

Adams is the #1 SS in the NFL. All Pro at the position of biggest need for us in the secondary which is currently our weakest link on defense.

Its a no brainer. Collins hasn't even made a pro bowl for heavens sake. He has had ONE good year for the Cowboys. Overall where he was rated as a first round pick, he has actually disappointed.

You don't know football apparently... Dak's success, like any other QB, is contingent upon having a solid to good o-line taking away an important piece won't benefit this team.

This is real close, and I hear you, although probably moot.

Him plus high picks, I gotta turn it down.

As far as are we a better team with say, Williams at RT and Adams at S, maybe, and it's close, but I draw the line at the picks because they are maybes.

La'el isnt a maybe, and already losing an OL starter pushes me to say no.

-I would only consider the deal if it's player for player
-It's risky to lose an offensive lineman, but we do have some options. If they fail, you just address the need next year
-With all the dead money attached, along with Adams potential extension it makes it very unlikely

Center, LT, RT. Actually never heard anyone say that RT had positional value.

We play in a different era, teams will move their best rusher around to exploit match-ups. Some of the real good rushers actually play at LE position. Just look at this past draft, several RT's were taken in rd 1.

Yeah like horrible coaching. Long developing passing routes. An inconsistent defense. Little to no special teams help. A team that quit on their coach etc

Exactly.

But yeah, blame La'el Collins for 8-8...

I agree Dak's success and that of the offense is predicated on an Oline.

But the TEAM overall success needs a great defense more than anything. Replacing a good RT like Collins is not going to be a big deal. If replacing him cant be done this year then it can easily be done in the offseason.

Acquisition via draft or trade is an acquisition.

If Cowboys traded for Adams, Nolan better know how to make this exceptional playmaker "fit".
You are missing the entire point of "fit the scheme to the players".

In the draft if a player that does not fit the existing scheme is BPA then they would draft that player.

They would not trade a boatload of picks to trade up for that player.

A couple of years ago the Giants wanted to dump DT Snacks Harrison for cap reasons. They traded him for something like a 5th round pick. He didn't "fit" Marinelli's scheme and the Cowboys were not interested. There would be no guaranteed money on that contract.

Trading a 1st, 3rd and giving out a huge contract with huge guaranteed money is the opposite of taking advantage of players available for a bargain or taking the BPA in the draft.

This is the danger of doing things on paper.

On paper, it’s just plug n’play “we’ll just move that guy here, that guy will fill-in there...”

I don’t like the idea of altering three positions to improve one (safety). We are all assuming Williams would just slide out to tackle and be fine; McGovern will take over at OG; and Biadasz take over at center or Looney.

Folks should be reminded that when we drafted Williams in the second round we all assumed we got our next Zach Martin, but it turns out he’s nothing of the sort. We’re all now assuming McGovern is plug n’play but he’s never taken an NFL snap (same as Biedasz). Frankly, Looney is the only “proven” guy in this scenario.

I want Adams on this roster but trading Collins isn’t the move I’d make to get him.

Getting the 3rd ranked tackle in football on a team-friendly deal cannot be "easily done in the offseason".

The Cowboys likely don't place as much value on Adams in the new defensive scheme. Adams is an SS that thrives up around the line. The new scheme is a base 2-deep Safety alignment.

The Mike Nolan scheme tends to use Safeties with more CB type traits and less LB type traits. Both Safeties tend to be similar. It's basically 2 Free Safety types.

Adams would still be great in the new scheme but the "need" for Adams is much lower in this scheme than in the previous Cowboys defensive scheme.
There are some candidates that are going to need to fit in right away,,
Diggs, Dix, Worley, Robinson, Canady,,just saying,, there is a bit of hope that we find some help from this young group.

Ill give em collins and a 3rd. We have too much $$ and resources dumped in our o line. We have connor williams who can play tackle, Biadasz at center and mcgovern at lg. We need a playmaker on the back end that can effect the game.

It's a final piece trade, albeit one who instantly becomes the leader of the defense.

However you cant take another piece away from the OL.

All you're doing is fixing one thing to break another, possibly worse.

This has to be a team wanting to dump a player the current regime didnt draft who has become a headache.

I just dont want him ending up in Philly for a 1st only.

All of you who say not to deal 1sts at all, or safeties dont matter, or whatever, are gonna learn that the hard way if that happens. I don't wanna be saying I told you so. I dont need that.

Everything...everything depends upon or OL.
I wouldn’t trade Adams and Collins straight up. Adams is a great in the box safety, but he is NOT Ed Reid!
Adams does not make us a contender if we lose our starting RT.

This is simple guys.
Conner Williams, Xavier Woods and a 1st rounder for Jamal Adams.

Cut loose Crawford. Save 8m
Restructure Martin, Cooper and Collins thats adds a year to his contract.
Sign Clowney to a 3yr deal at 15m per. With incentives. Gives him something to work for
