Al Davis, John Madden and nine other Hall of Famers contributed to those Raiders, who routed the Minnesota Vikings, 32-14, in Super Bowl XI.

Well, that shows how little credence can be lent to this vote. No way were the 00 Ravens a top all time team.

As a best of all time team, you're looking at voting between 92-93 Cowboys, 70's Steeler, or 80's 49ers. And if you want to go further back, 60's Packers, 30's Packers, 40's Bears, 50's Browns.

IMO, our 90's super bowl teams would've squushed the 85 Bears.

that defense was disgusting.....other than the Marino lighting them up they pretty much shut down the other teams they played it was rather astonishing
It was. However, I don't think they could've scored on our D from 92-3

The Cowboy's early 90's teams were absolute monsters. We were already very good, but once Charles Hayley arrived, no one stood a chance. The 70's teams did not play by the same rules though, and the Raiders were known as the meanest, unruliest bunch of misfits ever gathered on one team.

They would have had a lot of trouble scoring on the 90s Cowboys. Their defense put them in position to score. I don't see them overwhelming the Cowboys front like that.

Of course. However, they're not in the convo for best of all time.

Had it not been for a questionable roughing the passer call at the end of the game against the Patriots, the Raiders wouldn't have gotten past the Divisional round. But the Patriots got that back 25 years later with the tuck rule.

That's true, but what a D.
I've never seen such fear in the faces of opponents as that crew inspired.

That was one hell of a defense and it does put them right up there but I wouldn’t put the 85 Bears at the very top.

That's cool. there are no right or wrong answers to these kinds of questions and answers say as much about the Person answering as They do about the Teams Themselves.
I love to watch physical intimidating D's far more than high scoring air it out O's, so My take is slanted towards Da Bears '85.

Who would You choose?

It’s a real tough choice, it’s very debatable who the greatest team was. If the 07 Pats would have won the Super Bowl I would’ve picked them. That was the most dominant team I had ever seen for most of that season. They were blowing teams out almost every week. Their defense wasn’t anything special but their offense was unstoppable. If I had to pick a team I would go with the 72 Dolphins only because they’re the only team that went all the way undefeated. They weren’t blowing anyone out but they were the most well balanced team offensively and defensively. They had three terrific backs, one of which is in the Hall of Fame. They had a Hall of Fame QB and a Hall of Fame WR. They had one of the greatest running games ever and they had a terrific defense. They’re the only team I can think of that had no deficiencies. Plus they had a Hall of Fame head coach.

I really think that the 85 bears team was one of the best. my problem with them is the schedule they played that year. the only teams that had a capable offense to beat them was the dolphins. the cowboys offense was above average but the olin the rest of the teams had average to mediocre offenses to play against that talented defensive line. ryan was ahead of his time with his blitz defenses he was calling.

I forgot that the bears played the 49ers that year and beat them pretty good in candlestick. I was looking at there schedule a little bit more. the teams they beat in playoffs were not good passing teams. the giants and rams were just running teams with short passing game offenses. they played perfectly to the bears defense.

I don't think the 85 Bears are the best SB team ever, but they aren't as one sided as one might think. They had a very strong running attack finishing first in rushing attempts, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns that season. They were not a prolific passing attack, but they were somewhat efficient in that area. The strong defense and rushing attack took a lot of pressure off of the passing game.
