I figured around 400 million. I said that on a previous page. Guy mvp super bowl mvp and super bowl winner. Not even 25 yet.

Dak better accept that 35 per that’s rumored. He can’t ask for what mahomes received. No way in hell.

Why would Dak take that deal when he literally gets more than 35M doing nothing but playing on the cap the next 2 years?

I'm surprised (a) that this is allowed by the CBA, and (b) that it hasn't already been exploited by any of a half-dozen before Mahomes.

(Sometimes skepticism is merited, and now it appears this was one of those times.)

I am sure Dak has no problem signing a 5+ year deal...just pay him for those extra years...If I was Dak, if the Cowboys wanted 5 years...we can start with what Goff/Wentz got...and then add $26mm (in "back pay") for me to give up my extra year of control.

woof.. QB value reset.
45M AAV.

That isn't good for Dallas, Houston or Baltimore.

All 3 cities will now see their QBs top 35M IMHO.

i think dak plays on the cap this year and next then i think he moves on
Dallas would tag him again.
They aren't going to let a guy they offered 35Mx5 walk for free.

Dallas best bet is extend now. Better bet was to extend yesterday. Best bet was extend long before now.

I guess Mahomes didn't want to bet on himself.

450 million over 10 years is betting on yourself and winning. It also means 40 million annually for 5 is what Watson and Dak will end up signing for.

36.5M x5 for Dak
37M x5 for Watson
37.5M x5 for Lamar.

imho.

Once the second tag is put up though Dak holds basically all the cards. He plays for 37m and is probably fine with that knowing you either extend him for a number he wants or pay him 50m for a 3rd year or he gets to leave and get 40+ million easily over 4 years.

I love this whole "back pay" argument. When the CBA was agreed to the idea was that the owners would get value in the rookie contracts and their caps wouldn't get blasted until the subsequent contracts. They didn't agree to back pay anybody, that's where the teams are supposed to get value and get rewarded for drafting well.

I mean Baltimore was always going to see Jackson get over 35m per. There was just no way that number would hold up (and it is not as though they are even allowed to negotiate an extension with him yet as it was only his 2nd year). I am pretty sure Watson was always going to beat whatever Wilson got as well.
