You do know it takes 2 sides to make a deal right? Dak and his agent knew this contract was coming for Mahomes. They weren’t going to agree to any offer from the Jones’ unless it was for the moon.

wrong, there's at least been a handful of posters here bashing Mahomes to prop up Dak in the same post, some of which also said Mahomes isn't anywhere near the best. I also believe there was a thread that was making fun of the idea that Dak was better and there were defenders in it lol

This is an incredible deal for the Chiefs and is actually a bad deal for the rest of the QB's in the NFL.

Mahomes has effectively capped the market for the next 10 years on the QB. You CANNOT pay anyone more than Mahomes 40 million.

Dak should jump at 35 million for 5 years.

Goff had two existing years on his contract when he was extended in 2019. The Rams own his rights for six years, where the Cowboys contract puts Dak if he signs. Goff becomes an unrestricted FA in 2025.

If Dak signed for five years, it would be 20-21, 21-22, 22-23, 23-24, 24-25... Like Goff..

Carson Went, exact same... he becomes an unrestricted FA in 25... He was extended 4 years a couple months before Goff...

Contract has $106 guaranteed and the first 5 years are worth 173. . . or $35m per year.

Jerry is going to be shoving this contract up Dak's agents rear end. He should take that contract, subtract about 1.5m per year and publicly offer it to Dak. Same exact terms with just slightly less money. Its actually very team friendly.

Normally I don’t get bent out of shape about QB contracts because the prices go up and up. A lot of times these contacts have no bearing on performance. But when you get a contact as absurd as Mahomes just got, then all bets are off. It’s not like Mahomes is making $2 mil more than the last guy that got inked.

So it really becomes more about are these QBs on the same playing field. And that answer is no.
