The “refs are out to get us” evidence is actually thin

I have the link. And it showed you to be lying just like I accused you of 1 post earlier. If you have to LIE to peddle a CONSPIRACY! it's not a conspiracy.

Read your own link. The fact you still can't understand an issue doesn't mean anyone else is lying. Percy saying he doesn't remember a previous thread doesn't mean it didn't happen.

You are a one trick pony and the trick is "The refs are always right and I'm smarter than these rube fans". Then you make silly comments like claiming OBJ killed the Cowboys as a Giant.

Dude, you lied. You went around quoting something as "proof" when the person never even said what you claimed. Then you try to post the same lie here again knowing he already told you it wasn't true. Again, divert all you want but it's here clear as day. You're a liar. Why try to pad a CONSPIRACY! with lies?

There is the exponentially fractional possibility that the Cowboy offense lacks discipline or focus during some of the most critical points of the game.

These days the Cowboys really aren't relevant enough to screw with.....just my opinion.

I mean, when was the last time a new rule was named after a Cowboy player?

The other poster did not say that he did not say it. He said he did not remember.

The refs fix games to keep them competitive IMO. Look at that final drive we had vs the Jets for example - the zebras did everything in their power to keep us moving.

Every year, during every Cowboys game, the cries of “These refs are out to get us”, or “Goodell has this crew paid off to get us” go out. But it does beg the question, Is this really true? What evidence do we have that we are getting hosed by the guys in stripes?

Looking at the number of total penalties called during the season is one way to look at the big picture of how often the Cowboys are being flagged during games compared to the rest of the league. Here’s a link to a pretty good free site to examine penalties called: https://www.nflpenalties.com/phase.php?year=2018

Here’s how the Cowboys stacked up last year when it came to penalties called against us:
  • The Cowboys were 21st in the NFL last year in total number of penalties called against us. In other words, 20 of the 32 teams in the NFL had more penalties called than we did.
  • We were ranked 10th in the league in offensive holding calls against us, which is in the top third. But here’s some perspective: We were called 25 times for offensive holding. Our opponents were called 25 times last year for offensive holding. Can’t say we were unequally called.
  • In a year when defensive holding was seemingly called constantly, the Cowboys were ranked 24th in number of defensive holding calls.
So looking at 2019 in the penalties called department, it looks like we weren’t penalized as much as most teams.
one thing I will say is the quality of refereeing in the NFL has dropped in my opinion. But I don’t think any one team has been the beneficiary of the refs bad calls. This is a problem the NFL needs to address. It’s not a fairness issue as much as a quality issue.
The real evidence of "The Refs are out to get us" is not now. The Cowboys haven't been a real threat for some time.
But if you go back to Jerry's war with the NFL over the proceeds of naming first Texas Stadium, and later AT&T Stadium, the evidence is clear. Many times the Cowboys would be threatening to pull away in games, only to receive penalties that kept the opposing team close.
One such time was back when Terrell Owens still played for the Cowboys and they were playing the Commanders in Washington. The Cowboys were on the verge of putting the game away in the first half. Romo throws a touchdown pass(or maybe one just close to the goal line from about the Skins 45. The Refs throw a flag on Marion Barber for an illegal block and call the play back. Replay cameras showed clearly that Barber did nothing that could even be remotely penalized for. The penalty broke the Cowboys momentum, and the Commanders came back and won the game with a "miraculous" interception return and last second field goal.
The NFL knows exactly how to influence games to go in the direction they want. The players may have no idea, and be playing hard. But a well-timed penalty can completely change the momentum in a game, and also completely change the outcome with only one or two more well-timed penalties.
Lately, however, it seems that the Cowboys are the benefactors of those well-timed penalties.
Just a year or two ago vs San Francisco, Dak was really struggling and the 49'ers were gaining the upper hand early. A penalty on a 3rd down play in which Dak overthrew his receiver gave the Cowboys new life, and they ended up beating the 49'ers handily.
As I have said, it's naive to think that billionaires would risk their fortune to a game of chance. Nudging the game in the direction you want it to go is easily done and almost undetectable by most observers, simply by having the referees do it with a flag.
