People, the game is different now. You can not compare different eras statistically. But I guess you are gonna do what you are gonna do so I guess, have fun..........
Did you share this same opinion when posters compare Dak to Troy? :rolleyes:

Nope. It was hard being a young fan back then. I will say that Troy's toughness can't be understated enough bouncing back from such a rocky start that others couldn't overcome.
Same with Dak's toughness, it's incredible.

I respect anyone who's formative years as a Cowboy fan were during the dark days of the 1980's and who stuck with the team through that and on until today. It was much easier for a guy like me who's fandom first started developing in1969-1970.

It’s not how you start it’s how you finish. I guarantee you Zeke doesn’t play as long as Emmitt. Plus Emmitt was a different kind of tough and durable.

Zeke or Emmitt? :popcorn:

So far, the difference between Emmitt and Zeke is Emmitt’s longevity and his ability to consistently come up huge in big games and big moments. So far Zeke has been an outstanding RB in this league and his stats show it. But he not shown that he can consistently make huge plays when his team needs him. Right now Zeke also lacks the character and leadership of Emmitt.

I wrote a thread a couple of weeks ago comparing Zeke to other HOF RBs and what his chances were to eventually be a HOFer. While Zeke has averaged an excellent 1,351 yards per season, unless he has a longer career with some more success in the playoffs, he’s going to have to pad his resume’ a lot more than what he’s shown in 4 years.

How could Zeke have no heart if he’s pretty much led the league in carries in four years. Derrick Henry has never started a full season and isn’t even close to the amount of carries as Zeke and Zeke was just as effective as Henry in the red zone this year.

The difference is Tannehil was better than Dak. Henry didn’t do anything much the first six games with Mariotta as QB.

The difference was the points allowed by the Titans defense: 13 points to the New England, 12 to Baltimore. KC put an end to that.

Tannehill passed for less than 100 yards in both playoff wins. I'd swear some of you only watch one side of the football. :muttley:

And? Dak Prescott beat the woeful Commanders throwing for 97 yards when Zeke was suspended. According to Dak fans, that’s proof he could win without Zeke.

Ryan Tannehil was the highest rated passer of 2019 and again, the Titans were 2-4 to start the season with Mariotta. He didn’t play just three play-off games, he started 10 games and threw over 70% and 22 TDs and 6 INTs. And he threw for 2 TDs and 209 yards against the Chiefs and the difference is Mahomes is an elite QB that can score against elite defenses, unlike Dak. He also threw for 2 TDs and rushed for 1 against the Ravens, another top tier defense, unlike Dak, who folds against elite defenses.

Emmitt dominated a game with a separated shoulder. Zeke takes himself out several times a game.

Emmitt was awesome - one of my all time faves along with Staubach - but you're perpetuating a myth.

Carries per game as a Cowboy:

Emmitt = 20.2
Zeke = 20.9

Somehow Zeke carries the ball more frequently than Emmitt did in Dallas. Go figure.

If we add in old Emmitt's carries with the Cardinals his number gets lower, so there's no reason to include them.

Yes ES but he also had 2 other HOF on his side of the ball and the best TE in the game along with B. Jones from SF. How many HOF's on this O side now?
well this is not really a great argument because Zeke has started out and until now has played with "HOF" talent in Tyron Smith, Frederick, Martin, as well as a good passing game, and a future HOF TE (albeit end of career, but still)

We're talking about the first 4 or 5 seasons, but it's pointless to even talk about any stats, because the league isn't the same, defenses aren't the same, and they way the players are used isn't the same. It's like any other position, when you're talking about different eras.

Is it too late to see if Murray would sign for $13M instead of the $90M we gave Zeke due to draft position?

3 TDs by McFadden... Almost like all those rushing yards went for naught. That being said, McFadden showed his talent when healthy and with decent personnel in 2010, when he rushed for 1157 yards on 5.2 TDs per carry with Jason Campbell as QB.
