In case of emergency is the whole point. There is no current emergency so there is no current value.
But again, it was still a good move with value because Dalton is in place if needed. The Cowboys may or may not need Dalton this season, but there will always be a point in time when insurance is needed, and there is value in knowing you have quality coverage for whenever that time comes.
