First, your point would be worth more consideration if you would spell CeeDee correctly.

Secondly, it's a ridiculous point.

CeeDee Lamb is a bigger, faster version of DeAndre Hopkins. That's the real comparison.

depends who the QB is. Tyreek Hill's short game is really good, but a weak-armed QB won't be able to fully maximize his value. For Mahomes, Tyreek Hill is better than a CeeDee Lamb/Hopkins.

I’ll take a WR like Tyreek Hill over CD Lamb, Gallup , Hopkins 24/7.

You can’t cover or teach elite speed.

And I would take Gallup over Usain Boldt. Speed is an asset, no question, but it is doesn't mean anything without hands, concentration, body control, instincts, route running, reading defenses, etc …

That's not to say Hill doesn't have other important traits for a receiver - obviously he does or he wouldn't be such a high quality NFL player.

My point is the whole picture, taking into account all traits, is how to evaluate a receiver, and speed is one of several factors that play into that.

As for Hill and Lamb, it's not exactly a revelation that Lamb cannot immediately walk into the NFL considered among the top receivers in the game because Hill has proven himself and Lamb has yet to get a chance. A person could just as easily insert the name of other WRs with much less speed than Hill and the statement would be the same. Time is the only thing that will tell where Lamb ends up bein regarded in the mix of NFL receivers.

Speed is great when the player can play the desired position. Specifically for WR, he better be able to catch the ball, maneuver in traffic and take a hit. There are many examples of very fast WRs that cannot. I will take a WR like Rice, Irvin and Hopkins all day before I take someone like Henry Ruggs (based on speed).

there is a lot of players with speed....you need receiving ability...Williams had 4.3 speed. zero hands. zero route running ability. he sucked. we had a guy who ran a 4.19, can't recall his name. but his only game was straight ahead go route.....Hill has speed. but he is also a good WR, with good route running and good hands...that's the killer combination....

Jerry Rice
Randy Moss
Terrell Owens
Larry Fitzgerald
Marvin Harrison
Calvin Johnson
Michael Irvin
Julio Jones
Andre Johnson
Cris Carter

All ten of the players above I consider to be better than Hill , and only 1 of them , Moss , had fearsome downfield speed........

Might that have been Alexander Wright back in the '90's ?

Exactly
And it’s a better comparison when one has actually played an nfl season or atleast a game

Excuse for Dak in the context of Mahomes.. imagine how many times Dak would throw behind Hill, like he does all his other WRs, considering Hill’s speed...

Yep. Perhaps his biggest moment as a pro was recovering an opponent's
onside kick attempt and returning it for a TD. I forget the opposing team, but it was
a fun moment to watch.

It was against the Eagles.
