So passing yards is the primary barometer you are using?

Tell me this, if a running back runs for 1,500 yards, but averaged 3.7 yards per carry in doing it, would you say that back is better than one who rushed for 1,000 yards but averaged 4.5?

I'm going to always go with the quarterback who completed a greater percentage of his passes and had a better TD-to-int. ratio over one who didn't, no matter how many yards he threw for. Both Mahomes and Wilson had less than half as many interceptions as Prescott last season, hence the reason their QB ratings are higher.

Turnovers are a huge part of this game, so the fewer that you make, the better off your team is. Dak's numbers in that regard were not bad, but they also were not on the same level as Mahomes and Wilson.

If you want to throw in their rushing, Mahomes ran 43 times for 218 yards and 2 TDs and only fumbled once. Wilson rushed 75 times for 342 yards and 3 TDs and fumbled 3 times. Prescott had 52 rushes for 277 yards and 3 TDs with 2 fumbles. Total turnovers: Mahomes 6, Wilson 8, Prescott 13.
You're a hypocrite!!! You weren't complaining when Romo was throwing for way more INTs than Dak's measly 11 INTs last year, were you? Dak also threw 1 yard shy of tying Romo's franchise single season record, but I know you were praising Romo for 4,903 yards throwing while now making light of Dak's 1 yard less thrown season!

Crabs in a barrel.....

Facts One: Rookies are Professional Football Players

Fact Two: Every player selected by the PFWA for All Pro or All Rookie team played against the same pool of NFL talent

Fact Three: Brady, Matt and Dak were the only 3 QBs to be awarded All - Anything by PFF, PFWA & SN in 2016

Has deductive reasoning been outlawed too

Dak played at an All Pro level 2016.

Marino was All Rookie Team 1983 but Theismann was the 1st Team All Pro....Marino went on to be All Pro in 1984 but does his rookie status somehow eliminate the All Pro play in 1983??

Is this a serious post? Seriously, asking cause I feel like I am missing something here.

Its funny to read when you compare Mahomes to Dak. One has at least won a Super Bowl. You get paid for what you do and accomplish not what other people get. Yes there is a "position pay" but there is elite, tier 2 tier 3 and so forth.

He is my hero, before him Dak wasn't making any waves, he was going along with the program. . . About to be adopted as Jerry's grandson. . . Now, everything has changed and relationships have soured.

Thank you Mr. France for your advice in these matters

So when Dak re-signs are you going to disappear or are you just going to make a bunch fo posts about how your lie is ruined?

The highest is can be is the one guaranteed year from when they picked up the previous year, so the worst it could be is 49.4m in 2027 because Mahomes would have been on the roster in 2026 thus making 2027 guaranteed

It's not that simple. He has 141 million guaranteed. Couple that with what I said before. It's much higher. If you read his contract it will tell you the dead cap after every year, and it's not pretty. But it is an out if he gets a career ending injury.

It really is after the 1st 3 years his deal basically becomes a 2 year deal at a time. For every year they pick up the roster bonus they guarantee the next year...that's it, so if they pick up the roster bonus in 2024 then 2025 becomes guaranteed, so assumming he played in 2024 then they wanted to cut him for 2025 his roster bonus for 2025 would become the cap hit

This is such a team friendly deal, it's unbelievable. I have a really hard time actually believing it.

Dak bet on himself and won. The intelligent fans, those who know he can lead this team to the Super Bowl, also won as we’ve been watching the Dak haters squirm and in the process show their ignorance. It’s been a great thing all around.

He can't beat good teams when it matters same issue romo had. Mahomes is 10x smarter than dak knowing that even as good as he is there is a salary cap and there has to be money for other good players.

You haven't been watching much but instead listening to the likes of the haters here who know absolutely nothing about football.

I'll stay with the team. I've been here this long. Hopefully it will only be a 4 year contract.

Dak will easily get $38 - $40 per year now at a minimum thanks to Mahomes' new 10 year/$503 million with $477 million in guarantees/$45 mil/year average new contract extension.

You "don't pay Dak" Daktractors are foolish for having pushed the tag and much lesser pay which Jerry obviously listened to. Who is laughing now? Not you. It's Dak because he now knows he is worth at a minimum around $40 mil/season which Jerry will have no choice but to pay Dak since the alternative will lead to years of average play + rebuilding for years to come + playing musical chairs at the QB position.
Dak isn't half as good as Mahomes, do the math, hopefully Jerry figures this out too.

No Kidding the Chiefs have all the power with the deal and for the most part the salaries seem reasonable given the length of the deal. If Mahomes stays healthy he has a really good shot of playing out that deal and because it is such a team friendly deal he has assured himself of being surrounded by talented players throughout the next 10-12 years. Mahomes is smart enough to know there is really nothing he would want to buy that he can't buy with 500m that he would need 600m for. Plus he will make 200m more in endorsements over the next 10 years. This guy showed all his teammates that he wants to win 1st

I did not say Dak's 11 interceptions were bad, just that they were quite a bit worse than the two QBs you are saying he was better than last year. You seem pretty irrational when it comes to Prescott, so I'm going to bow out of this conversation. Anyone who thinks Prescott was better than Mahomes and Wilson last year is not in the right mind. Bringing Romo into a discussion that was not about him just shows how far gone you are on this topic.

What's Dak won?

Unless he accepts 5 years its a ticket to Jacksonville or Carolina?

The Prescott supporters have been squirming as much as the haters on whether he gets a long term contract or not. Right now I don't think many people are really happy.

What you're calling team friendly is year 4 it will cost the chiefs 42 mil to keep him and 41 mil in dead money if they release him, year 5 39 mil to keep him and 38 mil to release him, year 6 42 mil to keep him and 42 mil to release him, here comes the really big one year 7 60 mil to keep him and 60 mil in dead money if the release him. The other 3 years are the same thing saving nothing to keep him and costing the same amount in dead money if they release him. So just where is that team friendly contract. Team friendly contracts are contracts that if the team decides to move on it doesn't cost them the same to keep them in dead money.

I’m not squirming. I know he’s going to be extended in a weeks time.
