The poll I find most telling is the one showing that Rayne Dakota wasn’t even ranked top 100 currently by NFL players EXClUSIVELY .......the people who know him best

https://clutchpoints.com/cowboys-news-dak-prescott-motivated-by-being-left-out-of-nfl-top-100/

......any polls by media, owners and scouts are filled with them saying what the poll takers want them to say. Just feel good PC fluff, but lacking in substance.

The players don’t feel obligated to stretch the truth....Like Collingsworth lying about Dakota buying his deceased mother a new home last summer
That was from August 3, 2019...

I think currently the top 8-15 QBs are somewhat interchangeable
Dak is in there somewhere...imo.

Roethlisberger would depend on health. If he's healthy, he probably is a top 7-8 guy.
I suspect Ryan has a big year this year, if they play
Dak, Wentz, Stafford, Cousins, ...shake and stir.
I'm curious to see Murray in year 2

I think Allen will improve, but not in that group yet.
Mayfield....not yet
Rivers is over the hill, but could rally for one big year.

Then we have this year's rookie class. Who knows, bu they do have great potential
Honestly? I Think after Russell, Mahomes and Aaron I think tis interchangeable. I might add Brees to that list just not quite sure. I don't think Watson is head and shoulders better than Dak or Wentz. And there's a argument to be made that Goff probably deserves to be in the same class with Wentz and Dak as well.

Can't begin to imagine what he would look like with our line, Zeke, and our WRs

Before he finally missed games last year, even with the weak oline and run game he had last year, he was on pace for
106 QB rating
5000 yards,
38 TDs
10 ints

And that was with poor protection or run game

I can't imagine Dak with Megatron, and giving him 11 years to develop.

Forget about Dak, Wentz. Roads well traveled. How in the -bleep- is Watson ranked above Lamar Jackson? No wonder NFL executives and scouts get so much wrong. It's all a good old boys network of retreads and nepotism.

The players' opinions...whatever. Half don't even watch 1/2 as much or delve into stats as much as any of us. They don't have time, and I don't blame them. If I wanted players' opinions, I'd get some sodium pentothol, and I'd ask Peyton Manning, Malcolm Jenkins, Tom Brady, Calais Campbell, Larry Fitzgerald, Aaron Rodgers.

This's about as credible you'll find ..........their evaluation is gold.

I can't see putting Wentz above him at this point (I think that's more on what people expect him to be, not what he has been), and I'd be iffy on today's version of Brady. He's shown a drop in play, but I'm not sure it's because of personnel or just that he's finally hitting that wall that most players hit way before this point in their careers (if they even come close to lasting this long). Frankly, I think Rodgers is in that fall-off category as well, but we'll see.

One WR does not make an offense.
Not even remotely

But yeah, having Megatron was nice.

The discussion is really about now though....as is the thread.

But your posts insists one shortened season does make a QB, also you included Zeke which doesn't help the QBs output.

Stafford is underrated, but you would be hoping that you're getting the Stafford 1 1/2 total seasons out of 11 seasons possible, since those were the only times he was better than Dak is right now.
Those are bad odds, and even worse odds with Dak moving forward and progressing as he has.

Whatever, QC
I don't want to argue this.
I tend to think Stafford has rarely (or never) had a good run game or oline...and it would've been helpful in the past, present, and future.

Sue me.

I would put him ahead of Wentz and Brady, at this point in his career, but it's close. The biggest point to this story is that he is a top 10 QB, at 26 yrs. Half of the top 10 are over 30 and 3 of the top 10 will be lucky to be in the league for more than 2 more years. He also never gets hurt and he is the undisputed leader in the locker room. In other words, pay the man, you have the most important position covered for the next decade. Get it done, and move on.

Ha Ha...Poll? Did someone actually say Poll?! I think we all know what Polls are worth! Love Polls btw...

A poll of people who actually play/work in the NFL or a poll of couch potatoes who think they know football.

Tough call. :muttley:

Seems like he is throwing the ball better now. 2016 seemed like a simple Offense set up for him to execute. Thought that’s why everyone called him a dink and dunk after that year. He couldn’t throw the long ball. Now after last year he was one of the best at it, according to the stays anyways...

Isnt it hilarious that here we stand after 4 years and Dak is overwhelmingly considered a top 10 QB? And in many rankings he is top 7. No way Wentz is in front of Dak. But that's the only problem I have with this list.

Brees and Brady will be gone within two years. I agree...………..Dak in a year or two is in the top 5. Especially with the new coaching staff and strength of the team.

The Dak trolls have been 100% proven dead wrong.

We went from:

-Dak is backup material
-Dak is average
-Dak is slightly above average
-Dak cant throw the deep ball
-Dink and Dunk Dak-
-Dak cant throw for 300 yards
-Dak cant throw for 400 yards

Bla………..Bla………….bla…………………...

How does it feel to know that you have no clue about?

-QB talent
-QB development
-The importance of coaching
-How a QB functions within the offense

Other than Garrett...………….has there EVER been anyone on this site more proven dead wrong then the Dak trolls?

Cowherd ripped it apart because Dak was rated number 4 by some of the personnel and his girlfriend Wince was as low as 14. He keeps saying we have this great offensive line and Jim Brown as our running back but leaves out that the Eagles won the Super Bowl with a backup quarterback. The Eagles are stacked with talent but he was impressed with Wince barely beating the Skins and Giants twice.

Funny how in essence, he is just like a Dak troll on here. He has to cut up Dak sooo much, that he has to continue the hatred as a way of not admitting he was wrong. And hoping that Dak and the Cowboys trip up.

A guy that isn't man enough to admit he was dead wrong. Sounds more and more dumb the more he opens his mouth.

True enough. Those players polled responded on his play up till that poll. If there’s a more current one I haven’t see seen it. I just find the opinions of the people who actually play against him more interesting than others that haven’t played the game, or haven’t played in the last decade.

Ehh. Most of these guys don’t play against everyone else. And their jobs aren’t to evaluate talent. Seems like you value the opinions that line up with yours.
