There's a wonderful documentary on the guy that was the "Soup ****"'s inspiration.
A restaurant owner in NYC with crazy rules.

The doc is called I Like Killing Flies.

Check it out!
What a primo character!
I'll check it out. Thanks.

Okay. which would not make it likely for it to happen. I answered the question on what it would take for this HYPOTHETICAL to happen. But you don't seem to understand what the original post asked.
I understand the original post but I don’t believe in Santa Claus. Hypothetically let’s believe he is real.

It seems hard for Texans to look at NFL Andy Dalton objectively. I live in Ohio and don't care about Texas high school or college football. I saw more of Dalton's Bengals than I wanted and I'll leave it at this: If the Cowboys have to resort to Dalton at QB find something else to do on Sunday.
He was fun to watch at TCU.

In my opinion, Andy is a quality QB. I like Dak and I believe he will be a Cowboy for a long time. However, I've been an Andy fan for years. Here's my question, if Dak doesn't sign an extension and struggles a bit early in the season, how long until,
1. The fans start yelling for Dalton?
2. How long until MM or Jerry pull the plug on Dak?

Not knowing your drinking habits, I'm just curious if maybe you should see some kind of a licensed professional about these delusional fantasies.

Dak has never been consistently bad enough to pull for Andy. Though the numbers aren't better than his rookie season, he was better last year than he's ever been. We won't pull Dak for Andy.

However, if Dak doesn't sign an extension, I could see Jerry concluding we will *never* get a contract with Dak. It comes down to whether Dak's demands cross a threshold that Jerry isn't willing to cross.

They've been negotiating a *long* time. At some point you gotta accept that you just aren't going to make a deal, and make the best of that no deal scenario. That's trading Dak now while we can get value for him, and while we have a starting quality veteran to backfill Dak.

I think the Cowboys believe Dak is their franchise quarterback. So in order for Dalton to get into the game I think its going to take a injury.

It really makes no sense for him to come into the game. You wouldn't bench Dak unless he does what? Loses 4 games in a row? By that time the season is over. If Dak struggled but they continued to win....they would keep Dak in. If Dak was good but they continued to lose....Dak would stay in. Only scenario I can come up with is if he got hurt.

If we're officially out of the playoff hunt, they may want to bench Dak after a series of losses to increase their leverage in contract negotiations next year.

I don't think there's anyway they do that. That would intentionally kill his value and I doubt he'd even want to be retained.

I'm happy for you that you really like Dalton but he was signed as a CHEAP BACKUP QB. Lets do a little review here. Dalton was fired for a QB that hasn't taken a single snap in the NFL. The bengals said we'll eat some dead cap money and just fire him. Dalton signed a one year contract for less than many backup QB make. Now the Cowboys are at the moment on the hook for 28 mil more than what they are paying Dalton and could be more if a long term contract is signed. Now do you really think in the real world that the Cowboys will bench all that money for a 3 mil backup?

Dak hijacked Tony Romo's team which led to the Hierarchy Speech...so Dak should be scared of Andy Dalton's 118 Career Ints and 14 Career Pick 6s?

That speech was funny.

As a new Dalton fan, I think he's a much better back up option than either Ben or Clayton. I never understood the Cooper Rush tenure.
