Do you think the Brady led Bucs will do better than the Newton led Patriots?
Good question

Or maybe just ask
Which QB will help add more wins to his team’s final 2019 record?

Do you see Cam Newton being successful under Belichick in New England or should I say do you see NE being successful with Newton at QB?
Cam is the backup. If he makes the team, that is.

If Cam Newton is healthy, and has an understanding of the offense, then he will be the starting quarter back. He is better than Stidham, than Hoyer. No question about it. Players play.

If Stidham can beat him out, then yes, he will be the starter. But based on what we've seen, Newton is a better player.

and please believe me, I would have preferred Stidham as the unquestioned no. 1. The fumble play from the Super Bowl irks me
You and I have no idea whether he's better than Stidham.

However, the fact remains that Cam is being paid backup money, and he's been on the market for a loooooong time w/ no interest. If NE had seen him as a viable starter, he'd have been signed weeks ago.

Why does everyone assume Cam will start when he's being paid backup money and was only signed when no one else showed any interest? I'm really not following the logic of this.

All their QBs are getting paid backup money. 5 QBs, total salary cap allocation of $4.2M

They'd have to play with 10 men if they didn't want someone getting paid backup money to start.

How do I know cam is better than stidham? Because I have seen both of them play.

It would be beneficial to the Patriots if Stidham played better, but based on everything we have seen it's highly doubtful that's the case.

So why didn't cam get signed earlier? The first thing is he wasn't released until the 24th of March, a full 6 days after free agency began. Secondly, with the covid restrictions in place, what team could bring him in to work him out? Coming off of both shoulder and foot injuries, that slowed any interest a team might have had in Newton.

At the beginning of free agency, teams also knew that he was out the door in Carolina. With so many questions surrounding him, what team would have traded for him? No one...

So why do I think Cam will start? He is a veteran player with a track record, who has played in the erhart/Perkins system, which the Patriots favor ... Stidham, there is basically nothing. He never flashed in practice, in preseason ala JimmyG ... If he had that type of game swagger, it would have been in the news ... The beat writers up here would have loved a potential qb controversy to write about... But it didn't happen...

You keep pointing to the money ... So what? Can made the decision to sign for the vet min on a one year prove it deal... To show that he can still play... Is there a higher profile position than replacing the GOAT?

All signs point to Cam Newton as the next starter in New England.

Edit: I am not a huge fan of cam Newton. That fumble flinch in the super bowl is exactly why I don't favor him... But he's a better player, and those guys usually find their way into the starting line up in New England, regardless of salary

As much as I dislike Cam I'd like to see if the Patriots can continue their success with him.

Although I disagree w/ you, that was well written!! Kudos!!

If Cam takes to coaching, he could start. However, he will have to change his ways. I personally don't believe he can, and even if he does he'll soon get hurt, but I concede there's a chance. To me, there's a better chance that Stidham is ready to drive the bus and realizes his upside, but he is definitely an unknown quantity.

it will be interesting to see Brady in TB, and Cam in NE.
Unfortunately, I believe both will sustain injuries. I wish injury on no man, so I am not hoping for it or anything sick like that, I simply believe that's what will happen.

Cam is likely, but brady has the quick release that helps him avoid being hit , and he does not run much.

He's changing to Arian's downfield passing attack, where the QB has to sit in the pocket longer. That's why I think he'll get hurt, which is why the Pats went away from the type of O way back when(09?). Brady was knocked out for the season in 08, and was severely hobbled in 07, which is one of the reasons they lost the super bowl. Brady cannot take hits at his age, and he's already agreed to run the Arian's O.
