Washington D.C. Diesels

1) Riggins tie-in from 80's Heyday
2) Notfolk-Portsmouth "Virginia" Line Locomotives used to be Maroon and Gold
3) Union Station in DC runs CSX trains through heart of Maryland crossing Potomac River heading west on Brunswick Line
4) Multiple awesome uniform possibilities and helmet decals (think locomotive caution plates diagonal black/yellow) built on existing color scheme

changing the name of a team is tantamount to being a different team.
Does anyone like the las vegas raiders? lol thats a joke
if they are moving to another city they should have to change their name.

If washington becomes the washington potato's it isnt gonna be the same, and I am not a washington fan , so I have to think
their fans are gonna have a hard time relating to a new name. And maybe a new logo also.

Synder should just move the team if he has to change those, there are other citys, and then the name change would be ok.

Hard to say, since the Las Vegas Raiders haven’t played a game yet....but the Los Angeles Raiders won a Super Bowl.

Cowboys-Commanders.
don't screw with it.

but i hope...if they do...they keep the logo and go with native american nickname...like the idea of using the name of a specific tribe.
braves-warriors work also.

but i'd rather they just keep the name they have been using forever.

Change the name and the biggest sponsor will leave...the fans....no more parking, tickets, merchandise....drinks, food....that is the big money...
This has already been proven to not be true with the Washington Bullets. Their was so much talk about the fans will leave, yadda, yadda, yadda, but at the end of the day, the fans want a winner. Not a name. Washington has been a joke for over 20 years, and among many of Daniel Snyder's blunders and how terrible of an owner he has been, you think this is what will send the fans packing? A name? LOL.

We also heard the same thing in reverse in Charlotte with the Hornets. When they were the Bobcats, so many hypothesized that their attendance would be better if they can change the team name back to the Hornets because of you know, history. Nope. The attendance is largely the same because they suck, and that's what matters.

Washington Generals. Not just the Globetrotters can always beat them now.

Krusty's Accountant:
Let me get this straight. You took all the money you made franchising your name and bet it *against* the Harlem Globetrotters?

Krusty the Clown:
[miserable] Oh, I thought the Generals were due!

[watches the game on TV]

Krusty the Clown:
He's spinning the ball on his finger! Just take it! Take it!

[the Globetrotters score]

Krusty the Clown:
That game was fixed! They were using a freakin' ladder, for God's sake!

well that was one of the theorys, but gringo was used by spanish before that, way before that.
Quite possibly correct you may be in yer' claimed "history" ,,,yet it falls far short of a natural fact ,when stacked up against the country wide peon peasantry ,who'd turn out by the scores ,to stare in slack jawed wonderment& seething inner rage,,,eh?( The Devil ,you say,,,?)o_O

Well, I learned something. I think its more a regional term. I spent much of my youth in Mexico and don't recall hearing it much there. It is used a lot in Texas. I don't think it's intended as a slur, unless they throw a Pinche in front of it! Lol
. What about Bolio? Any clue where that was came from?
* Well, BIG-G , I've seen it thrown & cast in curse like fashion more often than not,,,er,,, just saying, ( I used to work several big stout Mexicans & always kept an Eastwing framing hammer handy ,if ever their cast invectives press past my levels of toleranceo_O

A few I like...

"Redskanks"...

Right? Or...

"Redskunks"...

Nice, huh?

Or my particular favorite, the

"Washington Skidmarks"

Which I think has a particularly appropriate ring. The helmet stripe would be magical.
"Skidmarks" by a mile/ hands down

Why the Washington Redtails (Tuskegee Airmen)? You would be taking away recognition from one group of Americans (original Native Americans) and giving recognition to another group. I thought this was about "discrimination" to the original group recognition?
It's about the derogatory name.

I keep feeling more strongly that they should just be name neutral.

That way we can all call them whatever the heck we want.

As for merchandising and logo, well, keep the colors. If they want the face framed in the circle, just duplicate it with George Washington. It fits the theme and city.
