If you think,Romo is immune from criticism you must have had your head in the sand a lot of years. He got plenty, especially early in his career when he had a tendency to throw key INTs in key games in December. And you are far from the only one that has blown up the Cabo thing.

Ultimately he, and Danny, and Morton and Jackie Smith were football players putting their heart intro the game. It’s a shame they all fell short of what we would have liked, and I’m just as sure it hurt them more than it hurt you. But they have nothing they need to be forgiven for.
I forgive you for not reading this post title. So all is forgiven...except for Jerry Jones who caused most of this mess that is now the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones is the reason we are responding to post like this instead of talking about our Super Run.

Wait! I got to go to heaven so I forgive you too Jerry.

Jackie Smith was a grown butt man. I was a 13 years old Cowboys fan in Saints land when he dropped that pass. Trust me it hurt the boy more than the salary paid man that still went into the Hall of Fame forgiven by Tom Landry. Tony Romo was forgiven but does not need to be no were near the Ring of Honor or Hall of Fame. Michael Irvin is forgiven of his many off the field issues that made Jerry Jones pass on Hall of Fame, Super Freak WR, Randy Moss.

But I read the post and it said FIND HARD TO FORGIVE. So the my list still stand of Jackie Smith, Tony Romo, and Michael Irvin. They finally have been forgiven. But, it was hard to forgive and I never will forget.

So watch this video and go sob for poor old Jackie Smith who's job it was to catch the darn ball.

the post title? maybe you meant thread title?

in any case, I still say these people did nothing they need to be forgiven for. They played football. They weren’t perfect. That’s the nature of sports. If you were to ask what points in cowboy history were hard to get over, that would be different. The idea that the players did anything to be forgiven for is absurd.

David Irving.

And it's more of a Jerry thing than a Josh Brent thing, but I think bringing Brent back after he killed his teammate was disgusting.

Thanks Bro.
That is all I am saying.. I never thought our fan base would have a love affair with guys who have never won when it counted.
Think about this, the Cowboys made 8 out of the first 30 SB's, 20 straight winning seasons, America's team. The name was well deserved. This franchise got that name from consistently winning. A team that had to grind and then finally break through.
There is some weird Stockholm syndrome obsession a portion of fans have with Romo. He was a good player, I admit it. He was never really in the conversation as elite during his era. It's not personal. He was good when you needed elite to win.
Our fan base after 25 years of mediocrity now has to glam on to good football players. In the past our Football heroes were superstars.
I am early 40s so I cant give you all the 70's details, but I know the names, Landry, Randy White, Dorsett, Staubach, Lilly,Harvey Martin, Ed Jones, going to the Triplets.... now our memorable guy is Romo.
I hear you.

The argument is: put Romo on teams like those (in 70s or early 90s) that were absolutely loaded on both sides of the ball and well coached for 7-9 years in a row, and he may have a ring or three as well.

Thats all.

Most understand, in the end, even with real context, shoulda-woulda-coulda does not cut it.

This may offend...but why are you responding to a post, discussion thread, thread title, etc. that you think is absurd that was started and posted by fans which is short for fanatic?

If someone can find it hard to forgive but forgives, what is the problem with that?

By the way, read my original response to your post, thread response, discussion response, post response to the thread title of the subject discussion thread, etc. ...answered that aforementioned question.

In any case, your whole idea that people did nothing to be forgiven just threw out +10,000 years of theology and +2000 years Christianity. These were not points in Cowboys history. The Thread Title, Discussion Title, Post response Title, etc...said EX-PLAYER. These were the ex-Cowboys players play on the field that caused a bad points in Cowboys history that is hard to forgive.

Its a Cowboys discussion forum...lighten up. I forgive you and still say it was hard to forgive Jackie Smith, Tony Romo, and Michael Irvin for the the reasons previously given.

I’m not sure if you are aware or remember, but the negative with Septien wasn’t about football.
I had to look Septien up, because I didn't know him and I just saw he was a kicker. So I replied with Maher. But after reading your post, I looked a little deeper. He plead guilty to mishandling a minor? That's totally unforgivable.

Surely you know a discussion can consist of varying opinions. I have a dissenting opinion. That’s part of it too.

As for the title not being about points in Cowboy history, isn’t that what Jackie Smiths drop was? Playoff failures with Romo or Morton or White at QB?

But even if you want to talk about a player in general - maybe Romo’s career falling short of what was hoped - the same thing applies. He was a QB playing hard and trying to win for the span of his career with the Cowboys. If he just wasn’t good enough, or the teams and/or coaches he played with just weren’t good enough, or some combination of things, that’s just the nature of sports. There are always better players and teams, and worse players and teams.

I thought you might not have been aware of that, and I agree, that’s the kind of thing you can overlook. It was terrible.

if you aren’t aware of Lance Rentzel you might read up on him too. Pretty disturbing.

You are right to list Romo as a ex Cowboy you find hard to forgive.

Don't try to argue with a fool. He has expert experience in a area you do not of being, saying and doing foolish things.

Romo wasted an NFL record 13 Pro Bowler in 2007 because he wanted to go hopping in Cabo with Jessica Rabbit instead of preparing. He is as guilty as OBJ hanging out in Miami before a playoff game. Romo had numerous chances with numerous winning possibilities and did not deliver. Why he is considered better than Danny White and Craig Morton who actually got the Cowboys to NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl is beyond reasonable and prudent thought.

So don't try to argue with the expert view and experience of a fool.

How'd those amazing pro bowlers look in 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13? Basically tells you all you need to know. Pro bowl was a joke then as it is now. If they were that stacked, they would've maintained a level of success. And it was the coach who sent the "team" to Cabo. Maybe Romo should've just showed up at the facility and threw the ball to himself? Jerry wasted that team not the QB. That 07 team was a facade with poor coaching while Garrett and Phillips were proven to be pure crap. Jerry couldn't have hired 2 bigger slobs to choke away every season since then. 3 short years later and the massacre in Minnesota was the icing on the cake. Then we kept Garrett for another 10 on top of it. lol 13 years they haven't won a damn thing and some still blame the QB? Do you blame Dak today or Elliott or Zach Martin, Frederick maybe Cooper, Witten or Gallup? This offense is better and balanced and still nothing. But I'm sure you got plenty of excuses why that is.

Jerry Jones for 2 reasons: Jimmy Johnson and Emmitt (my favorite player of all time) not finishing his career in big D.

Ken Norton Jr: leaving the Cowboys mid-dynasty to play for the rival 49ers

Demarco Murray: Eagles? ***

I dislike Murray, but not because he left Dallas for Philadelphia (which was well within his rights.) Specifically, his fumble at Green Bay completely changed the momentum of that playoff game. He had wide open space in front of him; could have scored a 60-yard touchdown that would have put the Cowboys up 21-10, possibly blown the game open in Dallas' favor. Instead he fumbled and the Packers promptly seized the momentum.

We reclaimed momentum the next drive when Murray punched them back in the mouth. We lost momentum on the very next drive. Not to excuse the fumble because it was huge, but we did rebound.
