What godfather offer can pry Adams away from NY?

Why not trade for Aaron Donald? He is better than the Cowboys DTs.

Why not Stephon Gilmore...

They can't for every player that is better than the players already on the roster.

If the Cowboys are going to trade a 1st and 3rd then give that player a mega contract, then there are likely a lot of players near the end of their rookie contract available for trade.
Because Aaron Donald etc arent rumored to be available.

I understand your point, but understand that Adams is that vocal personality that isnt afraid to step up and lead, and that's the difference for this team at this time.

Generally speaking, you're totally right otherwise.

Again though, and I've said this to you...notice theres absolutely zero coming out of Dallas as to the rumors. It's all based on last years deadline situation and Adams himself, where Jerry could have been looking at a last ditch effort to save his puppet.

Now that the scheme has changed, you may be very right about them not being interested.

Meanwhile, with the down time, Jerry feels no good reason to take his team out of the spotlight over it.

Despite our lack of success the FO has built a good team. I have a good deal of faith in them right now. Of course I dont agree with everything, but as a whole its been a fantastic off season.

The player talent is certainly there to be a playoff team at minimum, if not a contender. You add in one or two more quality players and I have no doubt.

You win by spreading your resources around. Right now, our secondary is fairly cheap, with Dix the most expensive at $4 million this year. A game-changing safety can be the one player needed to put you over the top in close games. And we've had close games in the playoffs — one play here or there against Green Bay and we possibly move on in 2014 and 2016.

Plus, if the information on Adams is correct, we may not even have to worry about a new deal for him for two years. which means if you take away his signing bonus, we'd have to pay him less than what we are paying Dix this year and then almost $10 million next year.

Even if we wanted to reup him, you could keep those numbers similar for the first couple of years. Then escalate with restructures built in.
Patrick Chung is available for a 3rd...

Chung is not Jamal Adams, but surely you understand that.

Jamal Adams is not available for a 3rd and a smallish contract.

The point is that people compare getting Adams to how it would be a superman upgrade over Jeff Heath or Darian Thompson (The 2019 Strong Safeties).

In reality a better comparison is what the Cowboys could get with a more reasonable trade or could have obtained in free agency or could obtain next off-season in the draft or free agency.

The Patriots have won Super Bowls with Patrick Chung as their Strong Safety.

Chung is the type of SS that can be obtained in free agency for a reasonable contract. No picks required and a smaller contract than Adams would require.

It would be much more difficult to find a multi-time Super Bowl starter at DE or CB for a reasonable contract in free agency.

you mean Quincy toked.......... Either way like elections you have to pick an option.....we had Quincy, Henson, Hucthinson as possible QB1

In hindsight, in those legendary battles (where is @Hostile - we had some twisters back then), I actually got banned back then:lmao2:

We are all grown now, highly likely we ALL agree on a lot more than QB1
Hey @Qcard, long time no shoot the breeze with.

Actually, you didn't get banned, you asked for your account to be shut down. I forget why. Never understood it either way. We did have some good dust ups, but I always thought of them as positive.
