Only other site I was on was the Texans official site, and it did shut down around the same time.

Jerry Jones is an egomaniac who needs public attention. He seeks out media in all of its forms and I believe watches and reads everything said and written about him. That includes what appears on this fan site.

Of course not. However, the statement was made that he wasn't even aware of it. He was.

It was always rumored that he posted on it. No idea if it was true.

If I had to guess I would say he is “vaguely aware” of this site through random Google searches on the plane trip home from games. He could probably pick the correct name of this site from a list of maybe 3 names, but five would be pushing it.

There are Cowboys employees who have accounts here. Also, many Cowboys-related media members do as well.

I doubt Jerry or any of the Jones family members do. Although, after the whole thing with Kevin Durant and the fake accounts to defend himself, anything is possible.

As I posted long ago, the more likely reason is because the Cowboys, like most other NFL teams, moved (replaced) their sites back to the NFL hosted network service which does not likely support forums.

That said, most large companies do not value forums because they offer no real upside to them and tend to serve more as public customer/fan complaint systems whose posts show up in search engine results with high search rankings because of the company's domain popularity.

I became a Mod over there and I was one of Jerrys biggest critics - none of us were ever told not to criticize him or defend him.

Fact is that there was just not enough traffic there, not worth it.

My opinion why DC.com was shut down. (This is my opinion and I'm going to believe my opinion no matter what anyone else says.)

When Jerry went after Goodell's contract for suspending Zeke, Goodell retaliated by going after DC.com.

Dallas is in control of their own merchandising. We all know that, but it isn't merchandising if your naming other teams player or giving descriptions of the game. In order to give descriptions of the or name other teams players, you need NFL permission. So Goodell retaliated against Jerry and went after DC.com. At the same time (since retaliation is Illegal) he had to make sure all of the other NFL teams were in compliance with regulations on their website. So Dallas had to change their website to an NFL approved platform.

1)So Zeke was suspended, erroneously by some.

2)Jerry went after Goodell's contract, in retaliation for Zeke's suspension.

3)Then Goodell went after Jerry for retaliation on his retaliation, about Zeke. And ended up taking down DC.com.

So we lost DC.com due to a pissing match between two egomaniacs. Does that make sense to anyone?

They all stop by some more than often from the players to even Jerry.
Social media is the only place for them to get a pulse on how their fans feel about things and this is irresistible and mandatory for them in today's world.

Im not sure how this jives with the pretty consistent claim among fans that Jerry doesn’t care about them, otherwise he would do things differently.

my personal guess is, at most, Jerry has some on his staff occasionally update him on the General mood that can be captured by social media, but I don’t think for a second he lets social media influence his decision making. Nor should he. There is a lot of emotion and lack of reason on social media that shouldn’t have an influence.
