Don't know how you'd stop people from wearing clothing. People will probably start snatching up all the old stuff until it's gone to keep for history and/or wear to games.

They can wear it just not to games. Not saying they’re going to ban fans from the stadium who do but it’s possible. Someone posted there’s going to be changes that are not good. That could be one of the not so good changes.

They are targeting the younger fans and with time the new name will be the only one they know of

"They" will be coming after the Cowboys. Count on it. Such gender exclusivity cannot be tolerated.

Cowboys were the agents of colonization/wilderness destruction. Also, the whole symbol of independent spirit and rugged individualism is ableist and problematic... Jerry should get a jump on things and cancel the Cowboys now.

I feel bad for all the Native Americans who appreciated being honored by an NFL team using a moniker that recognized their heritage and culture. I'm sad that big money corporations are allowed to threaten taking money away in order to get their way.

I'm pretty mad at Snyder for caving to their demands.

I have immeasurable respect for the Tuskegee Airmen and what they accomplished, but I don't think 'Red Tails' or 'Redtails' would have been an appropriate name.

Lets just cancel Jerry instead...

i'm gonna miss that rivalry.

You know the NFL will pretend the rivalry still exists...

It doesn't....

I'm sorry, no, that was called Cowboys/Commanders. Not Cowboys/Warriors.....

Washington Commanders are no more. But a trademark hobbyist snatched up the good nam

The Washington Commanders announced on Monday that the team is retiring its controversial nickname, one that many consider racist, and logo after a thorough review that started on July 3.

However, the path to trademarking the new name might be difficult thanks to one man’s “hobby.”

When whispers of a name change started in 2014, Martin McCaulay, a 61-year-old actuary who lives in Alexandria, Virginia, filed 44 trademark claims to potential nicknames for the D.C.-based team, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported.

“I can really see into the future on this issue,” McCaulay said to Fox 5 in 2015. “Now when I look into the future, I see no change for 10 years, and then in 10 years, I see the name changing to the Washington Warriors. And if not the Warriors, then the Americans.”

It only took five years — and from the looks of it, McCaulay added a few more nicknames to that list.

My lips are zipped on this subject, hard for an old guy to have an opinion these days. Heh.

Just don't incite trolling by ragging on the "PC warriors" or the conservative crowd - discuss your perspective without flaming a particular group.

Imagine us changing our name to 'the Desperados' or something...

That's how many Skinhead fans feel...

I also feel indignant for the NFC East, which is easily the most valuable and iconic division ever.....

can't wait for PETA to get involved and be outraged at use of animals as mascots.

If that happens teams will be left with nothing but to be recognized solely by their city. No mascot, no logo on helmets, nothing.

Unfortunately, even then there would be someone somewhere who is offended by "Dallas" using white, blue, and silver for their color scheme.
