Yea, if Tannenbaum says the sky is blue I won't believe him. King of terrible deals.

This dude was a GM lmao. Let Collins walk when he's one of the best at his position on a hella team friendly contract? He won't be anybody's GM again anytime soon lol

Loses me completely on letting Collins walk. Last year showed that the signing was a very good one.

However, even his Dak premise is off. He's supposing Dallas could have signed Dak to Wentz's deal. From all accounts, Dallas did try to extend Dak last year and he didn't agree to it. You can't make a player sign.

What a clown. The Collins contract is one of the best deals in the NFL.

What does he mean by wrong?

Is he saying we cant sign Prescott because we dont have the cap space? That isnt true.

And as much as I cant stand Elliott, you cant blame Jerry for doing it at the time. The structure is hideous, but whatever.

The Smith deal is the only head scratcher. Jerry did that just to P off Elliott at the time.

The Collins deal is excellent.
Zeke's deal appears bad on the surface, but when you look into it it's not as bad. He's still a very good player even though he's not as explosive as he used to be.
The Cooper deal is scary. We'll see how that one goes, but right now he appears overpaid.
The Smith deal hasn't aged well. Hopefully moving him away from the MLB position will improve his play and make the contract look better.
The Lawrence deal looks terrible. He's making top 5 money for defensive players but he plays nowhere near that level. He's no Khalil Mack or Von Miller. I think the Cowboys will come to regret that deal.

My problem is that he just assumes players will accept deals at his price. "Offer Dak a Wentz deal" - well we did, except Dak wouldn't sign it because he wanted 5 years. It takes 2 to tango.
Correct

The Jones boys have a policy that they want to sign their key guys to 5 years deals. That seems to be the hill they want to die on. They think all this drama is worth the extra year. It's idiotic.

Just get a 4 year deal done and get on with it.

Yeah, and like they could force Cooper to sign OBJ's deal making 2 million avg less a year. If you complain about the Cooper deal it should be that they didn't sign him at the time of the trade.

Imagine letting Collins walk...you'd essentially only have Tyron and Martin you feel confident in this year......get rid of your best/youngest lineman....
Yes, we are so extremely overloaded and deep on the OL, lets just trade away all pro assets, no worries.

I'm starting to think that anyone who bellers "The Cowboys should've signed Prescott last year" just isn't very bright.

Prescott refused a very fair contract offer last year.

Or that they traded for him at all.

This dude is a clown show. His track record in Miami and New York speak for themselves. They say hindsight is 20/20, but not for Mike Tannenbaum.

1. Dak: Does anybody even know for sure that Dak would've accepted Wentz's deal in the 2019 offseason? I don't think so. As Stephen has repeatedly said, it takes two to dance. This is pure guesswork on Tannenbaum's part.

2. Zeke: While I agree with Tannenbaum on this one, the problem goes further back. They should've never spent the #4 overall pick on a running back in the first place. Paying Zeke two years early simply compounded that mistake. Plus, it showed Dak that the Cowboys weren't serious about not setting the market for its star players.

3. Amari: Are we really going to quibble about $2MM in AAV? This is silly. Cooper has outplayed OBJ since joining the Cowboys anyway. I have no problems with this deal, and Tannenbaum's grasping at straws.

4. Tank: This is the one I struggle with the most. Given the fact that Myles Garrett just set the market for pass rushers at $25MM AAV, this deal looks better with time. However, Tank really needs to return to his pre-deal form next season for me to be comfortable with it.

5. Jaylon: Tannenbaum's dead wrong on this one. You don't pay for off-ball linebackers. And you certainly don't pay for off-ball linebackers coming back from a gruesome injury who have another year remaining on their deal and who had only one good season.

6. La'el: Tannenbaum's laughably wrong on this one. You designate one guy as "let him walk," and that guy is the one on the most team-friendly deal. What a joke. Contrary to Tank, La'el's play improved last year after signing his deal.

Maybe they would for a stubborn top 3 QB, but not for a stubborn top 10 QB.

Wentz got paid 33.5 mil. Cowboys offered Dak 33 mil. They offered him Wentz money, he refused.
