17 minutes left. Not gonna happen. I'm sure it won't be brought up or be a distraction all season long (if there's a season).

Good job by the team sticking to their guns. They should feel insulted that Dak is passing up such a generous offer.
They are idiots.....this better be the end of this talk with Dak. Don't even try to re-sign him next year because the money will be even more.

It's not happenning because the Cowboys don't believe in him enough to give him what he wants or something very close to it. If they really did this deal would have gotten done, now what Dak does this year will either prove the Cowboys idiots for not getting a deal done or geniouses for letting him play on the tag. The only way it costs the Cowboys more next season is if we get to the SB this year or maybe at worst the NFC championship game, anything less and what would Dak have done to expect more money next year in a deal. So without a big playoff run this year the only raise Dak would get next year is on a 2nd tag, which by the way means the Boys got him for 2 seasons at an average of about 34m per season

Can we dead this rhetoric? "Its not happening because they don't believe in him"....if that is true then it disturbs me they gave money to Zeke, Jaylon and Lawrence because that would indicate they believed in them over Dak and I've seen nothing to suggest that.

Yep, as a few have mentioned before we'll probably be in same position in 12 months time. The only difference may be MM will have (hopefully) had a year with him and will have an input.

Im sure if MM says I want Dak regardless of whatever else we spent on the roster JJ/SJ will find the money.

good quit frankly!

i would rather see dak with hopefuly better coaching and see what he can do and pay him more later then pay him now and be stuck with him. i think dak playing on the tag is win win for cowboys fans. if he do well no one will care that is cost more and if he flops the cowboys not stuck paying a avg qb and can move on to find the guy that can lead them to a super bowl!

Can anyone clear this up for me. Can they use the non exclusive tag next year or do they have to use the exclusive tag because that's what they did this year? That's the route I want to see them take if they are able to. Now, if Dak lights it up under MM, I'm sure we all will be hoping for the long term deal.

none of those guys got anything close to the 110+m guaranteed offerred to Dak and none of them touch the ball every single play they are onthe field and none of them play a position on the team that is more important to the team than the QB position. If the Cowboys wamted this done it would have been done

If he plays well in 2020 and as you correctly say "the money will be even more" then we just tag him again and get him for the cheap for another year.

It will also mean that he'll be getting his 'big contract' when he's entering the season as a 29 year old.

The positive is that he's going to be so motivated ....everyone's a winner.

And then what? We get to sign him to a 2 year deal?

I think as he'd be going into the season as a 29 year old he and France wont be as concerned about the length of contract....ironically it'll be them that'll look for the 5+ year deal.
