But most the time... it is....Especially concerning the greedy.
No, most of the time it is for the people with wild imaginations. Far and away most things in life are much less dramatic than people make them.

I don’t know, I don’t think it really even matters. Does he want to play with his teammates. Does he wanna play for the coach. Why would you want to play for a Fanbase that doesn’t appreciate you. I definitely would want out

I think he'd love to stay here. He just tried to get more than fo was willing to pay. Maybe next year.
I can’t figure the guy out. He’s always said let me prove myself it’s not about the money. I mean he wants to get paid obviously like an athlete. Look at this is what I want this is how many years I want you don’t want to come up with that deal find will go one year at a time not worried about it.It seems that simple to me

Dak wants to be an NFL quarterback that makes as much money as possible. The Cowboys don't have any more significance to him than the Browns or the Lions. If he can make more money playing for one of those teams, he'll do it. Whether or not he wants to win the Super Bowl, I think for him that's a "sure, why not?" but not a necessity. I think if he had the choice between making 100 million over the next 4 years and winning 1 or 2 Super Bowls or making 102 million over the same time period and not winning a Super Bowl and possibly barely even breaking .500, he would take the 102 million without hesitation. That's not what I would do, and I think many other fans would be the same as me. If I already had 100 mil, an extra 2 mil would mean nothing to me in comparison to being a champion. Dak's just not like that. For him, the money is more important than any championship. I don't hate him for that, but it does make him not the quarterback I want playing for the team. I want someone who wants a championship as a burning desire more than anything else on this earth. It was like that for John Elway. I don't believe any amount of money on this earth could replace for him those two Super Bowl rings that he won. I want someone like that at the helm. Again, I don't hate Dak over this. I'm not him and so I don't make his choices for him. But he's not who I want.

Most fans here seem to make the no contract thing all is about Dak not taking the deal or him being selfish, or that he doesn’t want to be here. I think all that is garbage. This situation is much more complex than we know and at the very least both sides share in the outcome of this situation.

Some thoughts I have:
  • People who act like Dak being gone is good for this team seem to think acquiring a top shelf QB is as easy as picking a backyard peach tree. Getting even a decent QB in the NFL is extremely difficult. And the Jones boys haven’t drafted a first round QB in 31 years. I don’t share anyone’s confidence that these guys know what they’re doing. Jerry wanted to draft Johnny Manziel and Paxton Lynch in the first round for gawd’s sake.
  • Dak’s gone- I could be wrong, but I think Dak will go the route of Kirk Cousins by leaving here after a season or two under the tag. I’ve never believed Dak was as good as the top 5 QBs in this league but I absolutely believe you can win a SB with him. With the right team, Prescott is an excellent QB. With his ability to not throw a lot of pics, I could see Belechick liking Dak for the pats down the road.
  • After a quarter of a century watching Jerry do things “his way“, forgive me if I have zero confidence that he knows what he’s doing. He’s never won anything as GM without the heavy lifting help of a strong and influential head coach. It remains to be seen even after signing Big Mac if Jerry’s learned that.
  • Whatever anyone else says, I don’t see this current QB situation as good for Dallas. Andy Dalton? Please. He’s a good backup; maybe even a mediocre starter. But the Cowboys aren’t going to be tanking for a draft pick next year, and I think Dak has enough pride that he will perform well enough for this team to make the playoffs. All that to say, I don’t know how this team acquires a top shelf QB without either drafting one or spending a fortune on one in FA, after showing they would rather sign WRs and RBs to big money deals.

I always smile when I hear players saying, "Its a business" when they don't understand that if the fans felt the same way, they'd pay significantly less money for the entertainment value those same players provide. The players better hope to high heaven that the fans don't think of it as "a business".

Dak was a Cowboys fan growing up. He gets all his endorsement money because of the Cowboys. That’s why he gets the attention as well. Dak just over-played his hand. The guy didn’t even give Rush playing time.

The 2015 Dallas Cowboys (you know, the team prior to Dak arriving) had, a top 3 OL, a top 5 rushing attack, and a WR and TE group as good as the 2016 and 2017 Cowboys...and better than the 2018 WR group.

They even had the same coaching staff to boot. How did those starting NFL QBs do again?

Zach Martin had a neck injury and Dez a high ankle sprain, Ron Leary only player 4 games because of injury and that top rushing game you claim was there, couldn’t do jack in the red zone. They were 9th in rushing yards, but 21st in scoring.

And before you say it is because of no Dak, they were 16th this year on red zone scoring and 22nd on the road. And they have Zeke who accounted for 12 TDs rushing. Teams were daring Dak to beat them in the red zone with his arm, while spying on Dak to prevent him from using his legs. Dak only has theee red zone TDs this year and one of them was a 42 yarder.

The reason for that 2018 group was because the Cowboys let go off Dez, because he was the scapegoat for Dak and the excuse was that Dez kept trying to force the ball to Dez. During the off-season even Dak said he doesn’t think a team needs a number 1.

So your claims are simply not true.

He grew up wanting to be a Cowboy. He's been one, been there, done that, got the jersey.

He is like every other QB in the league, he wants to be a highly paid QB. Where? That's not important. Every player in the league is a hired gun, just like every other sport with FA.
Unfortunately this is the truth.

Funny how everyone assumes he wants to be here....What if he is just playing out the string so he can hit free agency? Maybe he doesn't like the pressure of being the QB of America's team. I mean....who would really want to be apart of this circus anyway? We haven't won a Super Bowl in 25 years...so players know as long as Jerry is in control....the chances of him getting it right...are slim.

Maybe You are still pulling for Kellen Moore to be the starting QB instead of Dak.
