If he plays well this year, his starting number after this season is actually 45m based on the market of daks next 2 franchise tag numbers.

Doesn't really matter. If the cap stays close to the same Dallas is screwed whether they pay him or not. There is simply no good way to structure a 4 year 45 mil per contract and keep our competitive team.

Dallas had that chance twice. Now he'll be priced out of range. Can't just pay him without considering the cap.

Correct I don't see how dak stays here past 2021 just due to the $$. Unless he really really really wants to be a cowboy

He like others are Dakster fans not Cowboys fans.

He’s probably one of the Slobberers on this site. Lol

I was thinking about this last night. Wonder how many fans have soured on Dak. At least for now, until he starts winning games for us. Then will be back on the Dak Wagon.

Also, and we know they are out there. How many fans, or they call themselves fans. Want Dak to fail, just to say they were right.

I always said, I prefer he play on the tag, to really see his worth. Though if signed long term I would be ok with it. And though I am a bit disappointed, as how much is also to blame on the FO.
I will be fine once the season starts, and see how the entire team, with a new coaching staff does. I think many other fans will be too.

Right now there is a lot of frustration going on, and one outlet is to bash Dak, and the FO. Well, that is normal I guess.
If you wanted to see Dak play on the franchise tag for a year, before deciding whether or not to pay him (I do too, btw), why would you place any "blame" at all on the FO?

Takes both sides, and since we do not know all, or any of the facts, some has to be on them as well.

It's better for the Cowboys in the long run. I like Dak and I think he's a good QB but I don't know if he can take us where we want to go. It's year 5 and it's time for him to step up and prove it. No more excuses.

As much as I like Dak the cowboys aren't and shouldn't probably pay it. The only way dak stays long term is if he makes $$ concessions and really really really wants to be here

Whys should the #2 ranked QB in the league ( behinds Elite Jameis Winston) make any concessions? Stay strong Dak!
