Lol, a 7th round draft pick who has yet to have so much as his first practice with an NFL team is “Rodgers like” and better than Dak?

You may be jumping the gun just a smidge.

The fascination with Texas native QBs continues. 2019 NFL accuracy, aka on-target percentage:

Brees (1st)
Dak (7th)
Dalton (26th)
Stafford (30th)

"Dak sucks!" "Dak is inaccurate!" "Dalton is better!" "Stafford is the solution!" :muttley:

Dak isn't Brees, but he's better than those bums.

I think Stafford stinks...ok he’s not terrible but he isn’t winning anything...might as well ride with Dalton and swing hard for someone in the draft.
Dude, he's played his whole career for DETROIT.

Dak apparently is the ONLY QB in the league with talent around him. Anytime another one is talked about, it’s always ‘they didn’t have anything around them’.. Maybe just maybe they aren’t that great

Staffords time in Detroit is probably coming to an end. There were some rumblings his time there was over earlier this off-season. I think due to cap implications the team decided to hang onto him for another season.

Obviously I'm speculating, but I think 2020 is Staffords last year in Detroit. Matt is a Texas kid and I think the perfect solution for both sides is for Stafford to take over the qb job here in Dallas. This offensive line, these weapons, MM has to know him really well, I think the fit is really really good. This team is in win now mode and you are getting a super talented qb who has experience. What do you guys think?

Agreed. Stafford would be fine. I just don't believe the Lions have any intention of getting rid of him until the end of his contract at the end of the 2022 season. Like you, I'm speculating, but here is my reasoning. The Lions had the 3rd pick in the 2020 NFL draft. If they had any intention of getting rid of Stafford after the season, do you think they draft a cornerback when every quarterback not named Burrow was still on the board? Hell, I thought there was a solid chance they'd go QB anyway. So no. Unless the Lions GM is an internationally ranked dimwit, I don't see them releasing Stafford.

Other teams don't want? What kind of stupid statement is this? He's played his entire career for one team..which teams don't want him? You have no idea bc your statement is baseless
We know why rocyaice said that.

He also sucks at beating winning teams, winning in the playoffs, and staying healthy. He won’t be making any superior passes from the massage table.
His health could be a concern indeed , but cannot blame him for the record as much . Detroit OL / RB not at par with what Dak had with dallas

A really good run game helps the quarterback out a lot. A really good runner to boot, all the better. Quarterbacks like Goff are going to find this out when he drops back in play action to someone that is not Todd Gurley and see those linebackers not even flinch.

An 11 year veteran QB with a losing QB record and an 0-3 playoff record. What kind of solution is that? Stafford is a good QB but he’s basically a lesser version of Romo. He’s a stat guy who can’t win games consistently. His numbers don’t equate to wins because his teams are always playing from behind. Some of that is on him. He has an 89.3 career passer rating...not good!

You have fans complaining that all Dak did last season was put up empty numbers. If you want to see empty numbers go check out Stafford‘s career he’s the king of empty numbers.

In 2012 Stafford put up 4967 yards and in 2013 he put up 4650 yards and that equated to a grand total of 11 wins. I’m not sure there’s another QB who’s put up more yards for less wins than Stafford. We have some who think he’s the solution? Imagine having a QB throw for over 4900 yards and go 4-12. That’s hard to do.

I have no idea about the salary cap implications but he would be an intriguing possibility. Given equal talent around them, I dont think it's a clear cut case Stafford would be worse. I'd lean 55/45 to 60/40 Dak is better but it's tough to really know. Dak has a better O line, better receivers, and a better running back supporting his production.

Imagine putting wins and losses squarely on the QB in the year 2020.

Jimmy G must be all world.

I’m judging Stafford over his 11 year career. He’s only had two seasons with double digit wins.

Stafford was a pretty good QB but the back issues make me say pass.

And when have we had a WR on megatrons level?
We didn’t have such talent but you need protection and a running game to be able to get the passing game going . Dak had all that , plus an elite WR Corp which Jerry had to spend a 1st rounder ( Cooper ) on to help dak . Stanford had much much less to work with overall . You cannot compare the talent . Sak had a dream support cast offensively . He couldn’t capitalize it into wins . Whenever the running game stalled , he folded .
