PL returned yesterday in empty stadia.

Anyone see the (non) goal in the Sheff Utd v Aston Villa game? Goal line technology failed when Sheff Utd scored. Even though the ball was very clearly in the goal, the ref didn't give it and the video ref didnt even decide to do a formal review ! Perfect example of an over reliance on technology. One piece of equipment fails and all the officials disregard what they see with their own eyes not ever thinking the technology might have a fault. Even the VAR officials watching replays disregard what they see assuming the goal line technology must be correct.

That was ashamed that it happen but it did help in the ManU/Tottenham game at the end when the ref called for a PK against Tottenham. It was clear the Tottenham player got there first and ManU player knocked odd of him. It’s weird that there are no fans but they are pumping sounds in the stadium that sounds like they are there. NFL might want to look into how these soccer leagues are doing it.

I think that the sound is only on TV - cant hear it in the stadium. Where I am, they are broadcasting the games on 2 channels - one with artifical crowd noise and one with none.

That makes sense.

Yeah he's a great signing, surprised at how little competition there seemed to be to get him. Would struggle to name half a dozen sides he wouldn't improve.

Liverpool didnt look sharp against Everton last night. Was like a preseason game. I'd hoped that the break would allow them to regain some form - they were a little off when it began. Need to put in a better performance on Wednesday. Nightmare scenario is another 0-0 and then being beaten by City at the weekend. Rather they didnt limp over the line.

Chelsea/AV --Was quite a fun watch given lack of the game. Dominated but was down 0-1 when they brought on Pulisic and Reece James. Quick score and a follow by Giroud and it was 2-1 within 10 mins of the US kid coming on.
Thought Kante had a typical good game, back four still lost in sauce mostly.

MOTM goes to Pulisic for me just for the edge he brings in attack.
Less possession but far more danger with the ball.
Not gonna be heart broken to see a handful of the older guard depart. William, Pedro, Giroud. Not bad players at all just no longer the cut above they once were and this youth project has them out of sorts.
Glad for quick turnaround on Thursday.

Think Reece James is one of your back 4 going forward but they really need a strong central defender to pair with Rudiger.
Rudi, Azpi and Reece James are workable with a 4th guy that is truly world class.
Otherwise they need to replace more than 1 spot.
Man marking all season has been painful to watch.

What's going on with Burnley? Couldn't even kit up a full squad for the City game. Unbelievable.
