You are not a realist @blueblood70 ...Realist deal in reality and facts.

Fans never determine NFL QB market Value. That is fantasy....far from realist thinking.

Anyway back to business @jterrell just destroyed your fantastical post.. please I await your reply

Here comes the Facts.....
I know one player who doesnt deserve to be in this conversation just because hes our guy and im ok with him as our QB but Dak not even in the zip code for next man up Mahomes money..hes 6-10 ranked as starter and those guys dont get to call their shot..

Especially given hes playing hardball like hes actually done something. He has NOT..Mahomes is the story and not many sports fans will argue about his deal like they are with the Daks of the league..

if this truly was next man up league every starting qb would be the next 40+ guy? NO.

as a Realist I understand the limitations of our players and not drinking the kooliad..we are allowed to have an opinion without being called out as hater..

to be fair I wasn't happy with Tank or AC deals either,..neither earned it before or after signing...

so go TRY all you want to put Dak in the conversation and convince sheep. im not sheep , im a wolf..

Would do this contract with maholmes but no way on dak. Maholmes can carry a team. Dak is a bus driver.

Not realistic? Why, because Mahomes has 1 year left on his rookie deal?

1 year remaining on a rookie deal shouldn't be making or breaking a 10-year contract extension.

That contract is entirely realistic for any player who's willing to take it. It's play-to-pay. If Dak wanted a similar structure, Dallas would be entirely stupid not to fire Stephen out of a cannon to the signing table.

The only fully guaranteed money for Mahomes is $63m. Everything else is gated behind "rolling" guarantees that the team can opt out of X amount of time before they come due.

Mahomes got clowned. I mean good for the Chiefs but they're safe every stage of the way and I'm not sure his real guarantees are better than Russell Wilson got.

All Mahomes got was a big headline to brag about while being dunked on in the fine print.

You can't predict how long a guy can stay both healthy and motivated. Look at Andrew Luck. Or hell, Troy Aikman and Tony Romo. Guys like Favre and Brady are EXTREME outliers.
No he didn't.

You prolly shouldn't proclaim that because you don't understand the finance of it.

2027 has a crazy spike in cash.
Can't really get too much savings from a restructure there either as it's a huge roster bonus.

I found 2027 to be interesting too. I don't know why they didn't just give him a 20 million signing bonus instead of 10. Would have brought 2027 back to reality.

Yeah the Mahomes contract looks somewhat friendly. But that's under normal circumstances. If the cap doesn't go up for whatever reason for several years, those cap hits are going to suck.

Because 2027 is being used as a second bonus year. Much of that roster bonus will be restructured into a signing bonus to prorate over the last 5 years of the deal, when the cap will be much higher than the first 5.

Ok, now it makes sense.
