I would not be surprised if this story wasn't leaked from CAA/Dak. This might be a negotiation tool. Remember, the negotiation is not done. CAA and Dak still have next off season to get a deal done and I'm sure that introducing the idea that Dak might be interested in leaving would be something that they might float to see how interested the Cowboys are in Dak. If the team reacts with any amount of disconcertion, that will be a tool to move forward more agressively.

Just a thought.

I’m not sure I buy it all. Could there be some truth there? Sure, but I’d say it’s more of a disappointment that the contract didn’t get done. Who is to blame for that? All parties involved. I think Dak gets his extension after the season. There are some logical factors as to why it didn’t get done imo. There are other QB contracts coming up, the uncertainty of the CAP next year with the virus hurting revenue, new coaching staff etc...

If Dak is unhappy, I doubt his character would ever allow him to show it or hurt his play on the field.

I think Dak has a stellar season in 2020.

Oh sir...I am not disputing anything you've stated.
Clearly, Broaddus is a Superbowl winning Scout, he is not and has never been a reporter or team beat reporter. His coach source is unnamed.
Broaddus expertise is scouting and content generation from OTAs, mini-camp, training camp and draft.
But Broaddus report even at best is lukewarm Garrett coaching failures...this just another result of the Garrett era.
Amari didn't like Sanjay
Secondary didn't like Richard
DLINE tuned out Marinelli
Yada yada

Click bait...

Broaddus would be telling us how the team look on field in a normal off-season.

what he does doesn't matter, he has people in the building he talks too, also nobody name their sources. the fact he's been in and around the team for years make him more credible than a lot of the reporters that report from the outside.

Typical media would assert the “anonymous sources tell us” , BS they always lie about having
Lots of people say this.

I'm of the opinion that Bryan faithfully relayed what was told to him. I'm also assuming the anonymous coach also believes what he said. The point still stands regardless: the coach provided zero basis for his belief. Not only that but IMO contradicted himself, if what Bryan said was true.

IMO this isn't a press thing, it's a human thing. I'd say more but I'm sure I'd get benched heh.

That has to be the a "Garretism"...what he does doesn't matter yikes that's a scary world to live in.
When Broaddus was still employed by the Cowboys and was physically in house, Broaddus thought Garrett wasn't sold on Dak. Now, Broaddus from the outside has changed his mind per the 105.3 Fan podcast because a Former Coach told him otherwise???!?

Last time I checked Dak was still QB1. If he wanted out Dak wouldn't have signed Franchise Tag Tender (must be greed). If Cowboys didn't want Dak then they should have released but they tendered Dak at Exclusive negotiating rights... Cowboys don't like Dak but you can't talk to any other teams..... what he does doesn't matter

So one of Garrett's lackeys that is standing in the unemployment line thinks Dak wants out.

Could be true, could be false, who knows.

I deal in the world of facts and what we know for a fact is that Dak is playing 2020 under the tag for $31 million. Next year, the tag is $37 million. Those are the facts, anything else is just conjecture and irrelevant at this point.

If Dak truly wants out, he can just refuse to sign a long term contract. Financially speaking, anything beyond a second tag is not feasible so the team will have to let him walk at that point. In essence, he can do a Kurt Cousins and play on back to back tags before hitting free agency.

First off, how does "overpay" even get determined? Because the only people yelling about overpay is from "regular joe" fans who will never dabble in those types of figures. If you're talking about a player who doesn't live up to their contract after it's done, those are the risks associated with contracts in general but even they don't have much of an effect. As I told someone else, did Gurley's deal affect McCaffrey's richest deal ever? No, because there was also Zeke's to go on which hasn't even kicked in yet. That's just how it works. You compare the latest deals compared to the player's production and go from there.

The Cowboys are free to think Dak is NOT worth the recent deals but the way it's done is you compare the recent deals and Dak's rumored offers were not near those when you talk guarantees, which is probably the most important figure. No one can say Dak's play hasn't been close to or better than Wentz or Goff's so what's the hangup in offering guarantees commensurate to asking to lock him up for 5 years? If you're Dak and think you're on par with those guys, the guarantee offers should have reflected that. They didn't so he absolutely shouldn't have signed. So once again, no one can address that article which proves my point that the guarantee offers weren't in line which is why no one wants to address them and only talk AAV. Not fair offers from where I sit. Address the guarantees if you feel otherwise.
You post that but you have nothing to confirm or back up what you say.
Please post where there has ever been a defined term,, if there has then I apologize, but I have never seen the offer on the table.
