That extra first in 2022? Geez, Seattle got fleeced. AND the incoming contract extension. Good luck with that.

I really wanted Adams here too.

I really wanted him but not for that. Would have had to give up Woods 2 1sts and a 3rd for Adams and a 4th. I'll pass and just hope they will find a ballhawking cover safety in the draft.
It was probably Seattle that insisted the Jets take McDougald. They probably didn't want to pay him as a backup. Salary is $3.6 of a 4.5 aav deal.

Some franchises are actually all-in on winning championships, others are content just talking about it.

Anyways, here comes the "they paid too much" crowd.
We usually agree philosophically about this front office but I might shy away from that much lol. But your overall point is well taken

Would you trade Vander Esch, Gallup, & Lamb for Adams

It looks like a very heavy price to pay.... saying that, the Seattle coaching staff in the past has known how to funnel plays to a safety through scheme with pressure and making everything go inside, its a plan... those things some coaching staffs have that we have not seen in almost a decade...like i'm going to press on the outside and blitz from the edges and you will throw middle slants or get wrecked...again we just are not use to having a plan and getting players who execute that plan on the defense. Still looks like a heavy price though.

Holy over stuffed twinkies,,,
The sea hags just sold out for the ability to field the best two safties in the game.
Bobby Wagner and Jamal Adams are the two best safety tandems in the league, and look at Seattle playing the game out of the box, just when everyone believes that safeties should be irrelevant.
Just look at Seattle saying we can play that game,,

Yes they know the value and its an extreme cover two on the big,, they are stepping out to try and re invent, they know the value, and its going to cost them.

That’s a haul for the jets. I don’t think there was ever a shot of us giving up two firsts.

Nice move by the Jets, if they use the picks and huge cap break wisely.
Adams didn't want to be there, so may as well get a ton for him.

Those are projected to be late 1sts in the future, btw....so value-wise its not AS expensive.
