If Adams is that Great then why are the Jets that lousy? If Adams is that Great then why was the Jets defense that lousy? If Adams is that GREAT then why did the Jets end up with the 3rd pick in 2018, 3 pick in 2019 and the 11pick in 2020? I'm thinking thinking Seattle over paid for this one man band.......

You could literally say that about any good player surrounded by trash.

Not really a fair comparison being that Seattle picked 27th and 29th the last two years. Ask their fans if they would trade Jordyn Brooks and Collier for Adams and you will get a different answer.

People want to make fun of the trade but they’re the ones that keep winning, not us. This isn’t nearly as bad as some people make it.

that has more to do with having a real HC and not to mention one of the best QB in the NFL

ok, and they’ve had a winning formula quite a bit longer than we have which is why it’s funny to see people here criticize an organization that’s been more successful than us over the past 10 years.

I’m sure they’re laughing at us for using a 4th overall pick on a RB when they used a 7th ROUND pick on a RB that had a better ypc average behind a worse O line. Or our awesome Taco pick. Or what about their Wilson pick? There’s lots of different ways to view this but they’ve been winning, we haven’t, so until proven otherwise I don’t think it’s as bad as it appears.

Some franchises are actually all-in on winning championships, others are content just talking about it.

Anyways, here comes the "they paid too much" crowd.
And if Adams failed to make this a top 5 defense, you'd probably be one of the first in line going off on the FO for overpaying for him.

Sheer brilliance on display here.

Too much, unless a team is just one player away. We are not.

Based on our history of being a losing franchise for 1/4th of a century, we will never be one player away. Why? Because Jerry Jones, Willy M, and SJ always think they can get by without going all in. As long as the Cowboys continue to believe guys like Woods and Heath are remotely close to being in the same conversation of Adams , the course will remain the same!

Probably an over pay but those two firsts could turn out to be Taco and Trysten Hill. Also Adams is all pro and more of a LB hybrid who is adept at sacking the QB. I'd be surprised if either of those picks is lower than high teens.

I’m still ticked about the taco pick. TJ or that C Ramczyk even Njoku. Almost any other player, sigh... I think TJ is a 99 in Madden this year the best pass rusher in the league apparently. Anyways I think the thought is this next year is not gonna happen so you draft a player ok whatever they won’t play until 2022. Jamal Adams won’t play either so I never would have made that trade especially not to the jets. They likely cut Jamal because they don’t want to pay him. What’s up with the jets and are their fans doing ok after this?

I haven’t read this whole thread, but just saw the drama between Bell and Adams on Twitter.

Look at the names of some of these guys and tell me that the position is not as important as any on the team...These are super bowl winning safeties from the past few years;

Mathieau, Chung, McCourty, Jenkins,
Ward, Thomas, Reed.

Yep, we will continue to ride with the bargain basement guys like Heath, Woods. Frazier, Wilcox, AOA, Ball, oh and don’t forget the once HOF bound Matt Johnson.

When's the last time a team gave up multiple 1sts for an NFL player and it led to playoff success?

Can any team be 1 player away in the salary cap era? I don't think so and the fact that we have acted like we were for long is why we haven't won.

Somewhat true, though hopefully a first round pick doesn’t take years to materialize, they “should” be on the field from game 1.

Plus zeke is already declining, LVE has already been out half a season with a lot to be concerned about, we cut Taco and although Jones was our best defensive player we let him walk.
SHOULD BE is relative. And every single one of those first rounders except Taco was ready first day. I'm not sure what your point is are you saying Cowboys don't draft well in the 1st round?

Carroll really has not been good since he won a super bowl w/ that deep DLine he stepped into.

There is actually not many examples of teams trading multiple first rounders for a player. There was Mack, which was fairly recent, but before that you have to go back to Jay Cutler in 2009.
