They made a similar move a few years about with acquring Jimmy Graham. Not only did they give up a #1 pick, but their pro bowl Center in Max Unger. Their line was never the same and they haven't been in the Super Bowl since. This type of trade could hurt a franchise for several seasons.
Good food for thought.

Based on all their other number one picks it seems like no harm was done by giving up the draft pick but giving up the center wasn’t smart.

Gnats just cut there kicker and we have 2. What kind of draft pick would they cough up. Know we are not keeping both and a way of getting something.

Agreed. This is the type of trade you make for a quarterback, not a safety. Really dumb trade for Seattle.

Technically he’s lined up a LB quite a bit more during his career than SS or FS which is what makes him so unique, his versatility.
He is an extremely versatile defender, which does indeed up his value. There is an awful lot you could do with him.

I’d LOVE to have him in Dallas. That’s simply too much to give up for him though, IMO.

I think defensively they are good. I'm not doubting that. But would I have invested two 1st rounders and a 3rd in Adams? No. Teams have shown you can find a strong safety all throughout the draft or and free agency and contend.

And I don't know about the Seahawks contending. I don't know about that at all. NFC West has 4 teams fighting for a championship. At BEST 3 of them can make it and I see no reason to believe why the Cardinals can't with that offense going into next year we will see but we know they will beat each other up all year like they usually do.
Seattle is built like the Ravens were last season defensively but with better safeties and linebackers. The Ravens had better corners and defensive line. I am interested to see how their defensive line holds up. If they bring back Clowney look out!!

There is a sucker born every minute - that franchise tag where a team can offer 2 first would be the way to go for Dak!

No matter their success in the draft process, you simply cannot give them away for overpriced veterans. Teams who build through fa and the trade market very rarely have sustained success, ones who build through the draft do.

My thoughts exactly, I wonder if they’ll go after Clowney for a one year deal now, I’d actually be surprised if they didn’t. From what I’ve heard they have the cap space with a few minor restructures or minor cuts.

That’s also assuming Clowney would go for it but since he already knows the system, has a chance to win a SB and Adams will only help him look better I don’t know why he wouldn’t unless he sells out to the highest bidder but he already declined Cleveland so who knows.

And they made a crazy trade for Percy Harvin, sending a first, 4th, and 7th round picks to the Vikes. Harvin never did crap but mess up their locker room.

Seattle can make some bonehead trades, that’s for sure. If they didn’t have Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll, that thing would have already blown up in their faces.

It's surprising their GM still has a job after all these terrible trades.

He’s 24 with 2 years left on his contract, we gave away a first for Cooper so I don’t know what you’re talking about. Wasting a 4th overall on a RB is equivalent to throwing away a 1st IMO, a high first at that. Seattle has also gone basically ten years without a 1st round pick and the only team that has won more games is NE. They’ve had plenty of success, unless you call making the playoffs 7 out of 10 years and winning one SB, almost 2, unsuccessful. I don’t.

Where they flop on a 1st they make up for in later rounds (Sherman, Chancellor, Wilson, Carson).

Ya gonna fire a GM who has gone to two Super Bowls (won one) made the playoffs 7 out of 10 years and is in top 5 for most wins since 2010?

Lol, Jerry has got you guys drunk on his hype Kool Aid. Cowboys always next years 8-8 SB champs!

My god, another "WELL KNOWN MEMEBER" trying to school us little ole members. I'm starting believe that all WELL KNOWNers have their heads buried so far up their....you know whats! I personally believe that once this kid get's paid it's bye-bye time to the skills he has shown SO FAR. He's a ONE MAN BAND that other teams love to hate, he's all about ME. A loud mouth, over achiever who is going to flop big time in Seattle. They're going to expect this kid to put this team on his shoulders because, according to all the WELL KNOWers he's the best thing since slice bread. When this experiment fails they'll run old Pettie and their GM out of town WITH maybe a few WELL KNOWNers to boot! BOOK IT!
Careful. Make too many posts and your title will change to "Well Known Member" as well.

Those trades prevented them from sustained success. Wilson is excellent which is why they make the postseason every year, but they aren't a title contender anymore.

Lol, ok. They were an inch away from going to the conference championships last year and they’re not a contender anymore? Sustained success?! Did you not read what I just wrote? They’ve had more success than any other team except the Patriots for TEN years! Please tell me what teams over that time span, other than the Patriots, do you consider to have had more sustained success? The Cowboys? :lmao2:

I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone.

Some franchises are actually all-in on winning championships, others are content just talking about it.

Anyways, here comes the "they paid too much" crowd.

Had Jerry pulled that trade, giving up a player 2 1st rd picks and 2 mid round picks people here would have gone bat **** crazy claiming he lost his mind. Adams is a very good player, is he worth 2 1st? 2 mid and a vet player? Hell no

Getting to the playoffs is one thing, contending one a title is another. They had a loaded roster that could of been a dynasty, but these trades set them back to becoming more of a playoff team then a championship one.
