Sadly that is true.

There still are some of us out here who are not completely pro or anti and it suck for us to have to wade through all of the tripe that each side spills out.

If you are not pro Dak.... you are a HATER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do we have to start a new thread every time Colin Cowherd makes a statement about Dak?

BTW, this quote did not come form Machota.
Oh, I agree.
Just saying there sure are a lot of random threads every time someone makes either a positive or negative statement on Dak.
Seems like overkill, but its no big deal.
It is a Cowboys fan site after all.

Man with some of the stupid stuff you say you know damn well nobody "cries to the mods" over you. Hell I Forget you are even on this site until I enter a Dak thread and you randomly call someone "stupid" or a "troll". Its corny. Are you not capable of conducting yourself like an adult? How bad are thing for you to where you have to stoop low enough to call someone stupid because they don't agree with you? Man up.
lol, you are basically holding the other guy while trembling in fear... “how is it allowed to go on”? Won’t someone think of the children? I’m embarrassed for you myself it’s so pathetic. Stop crying for help, no ones going to come and save you... if that worked you would have been banned long ago for polluting the forum with your drivel.

Shout out to the Athletic.

NFL off. coordinator on Dak Prescott: “I think people are surprised at how good he is at reading and processing and throwing the ball where it needs to go and throwing it accurately. I have him as a high, high (tier) 2, a top-7 quarterback in the league.”

Apparently, this NFL “OC” is a fan of inaccurate QB’s.

@rocyaice the Dak Haters will never let go of this bone

Anyway let's get this thread back to substance..More nuggets about Dallas Cowboys QB1 from the Prestigious "The Athletic"

Shout out to the Athletic

“He can make every throw, he is athletic, he has command, he’s tough —where is the hole in his game?” a defensive coach who placed Prescott in the top tier said. “He hits deep balls, he has touch. He had somewhat of a rough game against Philly late in the season. I think he’s a complete guy. People say he needs the run game, but they ran it too much in the playoffs.”

He really impressed me just with his, he has a little ‘it’ to him,” a GM said. “When you watch him live, he doesn’t get fazed. He has better arm talent than you thought. He’s big, he stands strong in the pocket, more accurate than I thought, he can escape, he can buy time, he can create. He is also one of those guys that needs players around him. When the left tackle went down, he was not as good. He is not in the top-five that can carry it, but he is a strong two.”

I like that tripe you serve with that white gravy that includes vinegar in the recipe.

My dad was brought up on it and it was served in my house from Day One.

I finally got tired of him soaking his homemade biscuits in it and saying..

"You don't know what you are missing" as he would smile and wipe his lips.

After awhile of this I refused to touch it until I was clearing the table one day and one little portion remained on his plate and I tried it.

After that..I did not care what it looked like or where it came from.

Same thing with tongue. My mom would fix it, Dad would lap it up and I would soon follow.

My grandmother was English and cooked Fish and Chips, Sheppard's Pie, corn beef and cabbage and tripe on Sundays at her place.

You think Dak will win me over? Will I get tired of the debate? I can be worn down.

Hmmm..but only if it tastes like chicken with lots of gravy..

:lmao2:

I like turtles.

I love Dak, became a believer his rookie season, but I'm not so sure I believe all that's written there particularly on processing and accuracy. He's got some warts, which I think are offset by his leadership and durability.

As far as Tier rating, to me there's QBs that have won SuperBowls and then there's those are trying to win Superbowls.

One of the biggest mistakes with football, whether college or NFL, is in a team sport with so many moving parts on every play way to much credit and blame for winning or losing is attached to the QB. Your logic is there are two QB tiers, those who have won a Super Bowl and those who haven't. Off the top of my head there are two QB's that blow that logic right out of the water. Trent Dilfer was the QB of a Super Bowl winning team yet I seriously doubt anyone will rate him as a top tier QB. Dan Marion never won a Super Bowl but I'll bet most will say he was a top tier QB.

But I'll go back to what I originally said. There is any number of things any of the other players in the game could do wrong or make outstanding plays on every play that can affect the outcome of any game yet most people just want to credit or blame the QB for all of it. I won't even bring up special teams or the refs like the one's that stole a trip to the Super Bowl for the saints against the rams. There are those that say that it doesn't matter if any of the other players are making mistakes, getting called for penalties, turning over the ball or not stopping the other team, a top tier QB just keeps overcoming all the mistakes other players on his team make and just will the team to win is a crock of BS. The QB could be having a great game, no picks, great completion percentage yet the team is taking 2 steps forward and then 1 step back because others on his team are missing blocks so he gets sacked or a hold on a 3rd down conversion but comes back on a holding penalty.or any other mistakes that happen on offense or defense and they end up losing and the QB gets tagged with a loss. Or how about in a close game and the QB is scrambling because of another missed block and he throws the ball on the run and a receiver jumps high in the air and makes a fantastic catch and then breaks 2 tackles to score with just a couple seconds left to take the lead and then down the road when people are looking at the QB's win/loss record that will be in the win column even though they won that game because of a great play by a receiver. QB's get way to much credit and blame for the outcomes of games.

PFF has Prescott ranked as a Tier 3 QB along with the likes of Carr, Tannehill, Wentz, Goff, Jimmy G and Cousins. I wouldn't have Mayfield in the Tier 3. Tier 4 for me personally.

TIER 3
Volatile or conservative quarterbacks who will rely even more heavily on supporting cast and playcalling. Tier 3 quarterbacks can post top-10 production in any given year in the right situation.

Tier 3 QB Ranking is anywhere from 9-21 in the league depending upon variables such as supporting cast. I agree with such a broad ranking as quarterbacks have such different surroundings and help around them.

But then some of the guys in the Tier 4 category haven't really had a fair shake to date. Josh Allen (O-Line has only been manageable since the latter half of the past season after they changed their o-line coach and he finally has a genuine WR1 for next season), Murray (O-Line had been trash, but now improved with a top WR1), Darnold (horrific conditions for a QB let alone a rookie, finally has help at O-Line and WR and a TE) and Jones (finally has some help along the O-Line which has been wretched since he has played behind it) could easily be regarded as a Tier 3 QB minimum by the end of next season.

Tier 3 is pretty much spot on for Prescott and hence why the front office offered him the contract that they did whether people agree with it or not. They didn't want to lose someone like Amari Cooper to pay Prescott who they likely view in a similar ranking to PFF.

I'll be curious to see what MM has to say about Dak and his reading of defenses, if he's inclined to say so publicly. Since Dak and Kellen Moore are said to be buddies, I question if it's 100% true. I'm also skeptical that an average fan, like myself, has any true insight into Dak's thoughts. One can always guess but in reality, it doesn't necessarily mean much, other than an opinion.
You are always a soothing voice of reason on here, I agree with everything you said.

Yet 5 out of the 6 Tier 3 QBs you mentioned became the highest paid QB at the time of their extension.

Losing a player due to Dak's Contract is a myth.

DeMarcus Ware refused a team friendly deal restructuring. We were told of ALL this talent Romo would lose or will be needed to win a Superbowl.

Ware was right.

Building a team isn't Dak's problem. QBs get paid.

How many of those 5 teams subsequently won a Superbowl?

Why does the next quarterback to be paid need to reset the market? Do they need that hard-0n to sleep at night?

Excluding Mahomes, according to the reports in terms of average annual salary Prescott would have been either the highest around $36 million (above Wilson) or second highest paid QB around $34-35 million just behind Wilson. Depends what the number was but we know it wasn't around $28 million. So how much more should he expect to be paid?
