gave up the farm for a great BOX SAFETY that has SOME cover skills, and whines and gets his way when he isn't happy. Enjoy that Seattle. Seattle needed to fix the dline and linebacking group...failed miserably in the draft and free agency. In fact, the reason they gave away the farm on Adams is because of JUST THAT! They haven't drafted worth a BLEEP in several years and THEY KNOW IT. This was a clear act of desperation...throwing stuff against the wall and tons of resources to see if it works. Its kin to fixing a flat tire on the front of your car, when both back tires are the ones that are actually flat! lol...on one hand, I admire the "all in" mindset of the front office in Seattle, on the other, its foolish and been proven as of late, that you dont fix problems on a team by desperate moves...ie The Rams current state of affairs. Look at the cautionary tale of the Rams front office woes. We don't have to like Stephen Jones OR JERRY...(I DON'T), but we must admit this non-move, was correct. Could we just imagine hamstringing MM even more in the coming years if we traded away all that ammo pertaining to draft choices and players that the Seahawks just gave up? Watch what that move does to Seattle this year and the next 3. Even if Adams is a generational talent at safety, that won't matter if Russ Wilson has a crappy oline and it hasnt been fixed. Won't matter if the dline is mediocre and the linebacking corp is suspect. I can't even tell ya who their dbs are lol...other than Adams. This team will go how the oline and Russ Wilson goes. PERIOD. Not Adams. I am proud of the front office in Dallas for standing their ground on this. One final caveat, we need to start valuing the safety position more in the next draft . I do realize we havent had a top safety in like 15 years lol..I value it, but dont think giving up the farm is the way to go. Sorry for my lengthy post.

I'm sure they are they gave up a total of 5 players for 1. Was it smart? I don't think so. He is a safety not a QB and it is insane to give up top picks for a safety. He is an in the box safety and no matter how good you may think he is a safety is not worth 2 1st, 2 mid and a vet player.

agreed. I wouldn't do it. I can see a 1st maybe but I have reservations about trading a 1st for a guy who also must be paid top dollar soon.

I agree. I was willing to go a 1st to get him to Dallas. I think he is a very good player but not a player who is worth a 5 for 1 trade.

Reports are Adams wants to test the free agent market after he plays out this year lol...so potentially , Seattle can lose out totally! Gave up all those resources and could lose him in 2021. So they are renting him essentially. SHODDY MOVE by Seattle.

and for a guy that will walk after the year. No wonder Dallas begged off this deal.

Seattle got fleeced, mugged, whatever adjective you want to use. I can't understand these sports writers grading this as a win for them WEIRD. Jets just made the team better IMO. Not just that, look at Adams now deciding NOT to sign a long term deal with Seattle. He said he wants to test the market after the year. I smell further fleecing comin after the year lol. Imagine giving up the farm for a guy, only to lose him the next year. How do you think the optics of that plays out in that town? I really dont like Adams at all as a person...the more I see of him.

Prolly gonna release some more DL's, just like they did last time, and it'll result in a dropoff.

Just glancing at Overthecap, they don't have to release people to make room financially. Next year they have 61 million in space so we will see, not that it really matters. I don't think Jamal has the same effect on the Seahawks that Minka had with the steelers so i think it's kinda just a waste of so many picks.

He will leave Seattle next chance he gets. Its gradually become one of the worst run teams in the league. If not for Pete and Russ, that team wouldnt win 4 games per. Seattle got punked badly.

I hadn't heard he wants to test the market only he wants to set it.

I don't see him leaving after next season. I clearly see him having the upper hand in negotiations given the fact Seahawks have committed so much already. Only thing that would be dumber than this trade is to let him walk after this season.

He has said he opted to test the market...but Seattle will get first shot at signing him. I see him leaving.

Hm. I just knew he didn't have to have a deal this year. he wants big money so it's just a matter of what seattle offers next year otherwise he plays for his rookie salary again. Maybe he does or maybe they pay him a stupid amount, time will tell.

Excellent post.

This trade reeks of desperation. Not sure why SEA feels so desperate. I guess because they've been unable to put the right pieces around overpaid Wilson.

IMO, Jamaal is a fine player, but not THE player. I think he loses effectiveness w/o a cover S and disruptive DL.

thats correct. See we look at players with blinders off, no agenda. I notice the same thing about him on tape.To be fair, thats true about most box safeties, which IS what he is...a very good box safety..good instincts, and SOME cover skills, tho limited. NOT GENERATIONAL.

He is no Earl Thomas. Earl is a freak IMO...not too many can be complete like him..covers and hits. His instincts are insane.STILL not worth what Seattle gave up. Not for a safety. Now if we are talkin giving up the same resources for a good young QB, I'm all in. What Seattle did is bizarre.

He's Kam Chancellor. Basically, a great guy to have on your team, but not worth huge money.

yes...and so I just did a comp on what SF gave up to trade for Jimmy G from NE...correct me If Im wrong, didnt they trade 2 firsts? No matter, they gave up less for a very good starting QB.
