that's just it, it's only good news if he is determined to come in with the right mind set. Vs being disgruntled enough to brood through
the season trying to get his UFA status and moving on.

But role wise, that can greatly help any talk of forcing rookie Gallimore to become the immediate backup 1 tech behind Poe.

Now i'm just waiting to hear from Randy Gregory situation. !

In related thread, Poe was just placed on PUP. Maybe Woods is seeing more hope of getting play time. It was pointless of him to try and hold out anyway.

In 2019 the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl with 1tech DJ Jones (6-0, 321).

Seattle won 11 games in 2019 with 1tech Poona Ford (5-11, 310).

One of the more infamous "can't move him" run stopper types was Gilbert Brown and he is 6-2.

Woods has been solid when healthy but he struggled when he played through injuries which has been often.

Many 4-3 teams tend to allocate snaps as follows(plus/minus about 10%):
Starting 1tech: 60%
Starting 3tech: 65%
2nd 3tech: 55%
4th DT: 20% (usually this is the backup 1tech)

It's not his height that bothers me, it's his overall lack of both talent and bulk. Great kid, tries hard, but not an NFL-caliber starter IMO.

Played 47% of available snap counts in a well-balanced 4-man DT rotation for the Seahawks. I also think Poona is more talented than Woods. Remember in all this, I'm a die hard Trojan fan and know Antwaun personally.

In the end, I'm saying Woods as a rotational player behind Dontari Poe is a better situation than 2019's situation with Woods as the starter and Chris Covington as his back-up.

versatility and depth. SMART. He's one of those mudders we need and offers flex. He's a tad small byt he likely won't be asked to start. I see him as a rotational guy this year.
