You are not getting it.

The Garrett-led teams Romo was on were considerably worse than the ones Dak inherited.

-They were coached even more poorly

-Talent was worse

-Managed worse

The front office handled free agency so poorly back then, that it has made them do a complete 180 on their free-agency approach.

Dak has not have to overcome the same ineptitude from this franchise that Romo has.

its not that anyone isn't getting it, its that some don't agree with your assessment...
Again I'm a huge Romo fan, I'm also a huge Dak fan liking one doesn't mean you must hate the other... to me they both have a huge handicap with Garrett....Romo suffered longer than Dak had to for sure....that doesn't make Dak worse and certainly doesn't mean the players Romo played with sucked, I'm sure he would strongly disagree with that.

Erik Williams.............Was the most talented and meanest offensive lineman in NFL history that I ever saw.........................He's the only individual I ever saw not only handle , but dominate Reggie White..................

Reggie White imo is the best defensive end to ever play in the NFL and the way Erik Williams manhandled him made me so proud as a cowboys fan I mean he made Reggie look like he didnt belong in the NFL

He made him curse like a sailor.. and Reggie was a preacher.... never forget him going of his rocker about Williams hands to the face

Favorite Cowboy is probably Jimmy Johnson. I loved the way he coached. Those teams were the Alpha Males of the NFL.

Favorite player is between Darren Woodson (I played safety) and Emmitt Smith. I loved Michael Irvin as well. My favorite to watch was probably Charles Haley. He just scared people.

I used to love Ken Norton before he went to the niners... not so much afterwards.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Which 88? Which 22?

I assume you are talking about Irving and Emmitt, which are the biggest names with those numbers, but there are some earlier Cowboys with those numbers that some could possibly view as favorites
Gotta be Drew Pearson, the OG 88 and Bullet Bob the OG 22!

Again you can keep saying that and everyone can keep telling you he had just as good a line had good RB's and good stats but couldn't advance in the playoffs with the same lame arse head coach....... you can scream anything you want it doesn't make it true he had a HOF WR and TE 2 HOF OL wth are you talking about???

im pretty sure he had a top 3 offense in the league...he didn't do that with JAG's

It was a top 3 passing offense. The drafting stunk and there's no way in hell he had just as good of a line or running game. They brought in Tyron Smith when Romo was 32 years old. Before that.. garbage. Or aging linemen on the verge of retirement. Saying he had just as good of a line and RB is hilarious at this point. Jerry's decision making after Parcells left ruined this team and Romo. The Garrett/Phillips hires, the Williams trade, the special teams draft? A team that should've been good for a few years went south faster than you can blink. By the Minnesota playoff game less than 3 years after BP they were pure crap. After that fast forward 5 years to when he was 34 to talk about Murrays 1 good year.

Again I'm a Romo fan, was, am, and will be always, so if you think he got a raw deal at the coaching position and I think he got a raw deal at the coaching position..well we agree.... he had good teams i think with a different coach he at least goes to the dance if not wins one...but alas he had Garrett..... if your going to say you can't use the 2014 team when talking about Romo then so be it..it wasn't the only good team but it was the most comparable.... what im saying is Romo's teams and Dak's team could've been MVP up and down the line and they would've stopped at the same place in the playoffs....its the coach

one of my favorites was always LB Mike Hegman.
always seemed to be in the right place...at the right time.
as things began turning south in the late 80's...he was still makin' plays...especially as a run defender.
good solid vet...another of those "you notice it when he's not out there" kinda guys.
:bow:MIKE HEGMAN:bow:

#22 Bullet Bob...his speed and running past the defense to catch bombs from Dandy Don got me hooked...Bob Hayes will always be my favorite.
