Poe had his surgery in December, so he should be recovered by now, although, regaining his conditioning will evidently take longer. I suspect both he and Crawford should be available before too long. Not sure if Crawford will be retained but I guess we'll see. He had surgery to both hips, so I'm guessing he may or may not be able to physically return to his former playing condition. Well see.

Tyrone Crawford and Dontari Poe have been placed on the active/physically unable to perform list. Crawford had double hip surgery last offseason and Poe had quadriceps surgery before signing with the Cowboys as a free agent. The Cowboys will not have their first padded practice until mid-August, so both players will have more time for rehab. https://t.co/Yjxsexh634" / Twitter

Prediction: the hivemind of Tyrone Crawford haters will have plenty to say about this.

The 'hive' has been right for years.

Just be sure to take note of that fact.

Crawford, to me, is a tweener -- that much is fairly obvious. He's not bulky enough to be too effective as a DT, nor quick enough to do well at DE. He's mediocre at both of those two positions, especially at DE, where his pass rushing ability just doesn't do him justice. The Cowboys seem to approve of using him there mainly because he plays the run a bit more acceptably at that spot, as compared to DEs other than Lawrence.

didnt they have some kind of media on crawford talking about how good he was doing

I think I heard something of that nature a while back, although, they say that about most players trying to recover. I'm saving my accolades until I've seen him at his best. To me, that would entail looking far better than he's ever been before. That's actually a pretty difficult climb for someone recovering from surgery on both of his hips. That's seven months ago and he's still been put on the PUP list.

crawford should be cut. Dude makes too much money to basically do nothing.
Cutting him saves $8 million i believe.

Yea I think he’s gone too. I think likely and we might not hear about it but I could see an entirely new front 7 in a year or 2. Plunging in an injured McCoy, Poe with and injured Lawrence, Crawford, Lee, Smith, LVE It seems to me that it’s the classic let’s hide the problem with big name vets. I want to be wrong maybe as a group they can hold it together.

Jerry Dumbo GM Jones defensive personnel philosophy involves risk vs. reward players that are unreliable, unavailable and cheap.

Not much to see here. We'd do that with anyone who had any sort of surgery as there is no need for them to be active until practices start.
yup TUas on there as well..plus the first two weeks is all testing any of these players can come off at any time...won be any on field stuff until what the 15th?

They always count during the preseason but if they are kept on it for the regular season they miss at least six games where they don't count.

Can't seem to find clarification on that. What I posted indicated that they do not count during the preseason, which is what I thought since you can only put them on PUP at the start of camp meaning they are ineligible to practice until they are taken off PUP, which is when they count. I'm not 100 percent certain on it, so if you have evidence to the contrary, I'm open to it.
