Greatest OP Thread Title ever!!!

Last I heard from Patrik Walker CBS sports news. The league was too busy dealing with Covid-19 fallout.
Apparently Aldon Smith got his reinstatementb package into NFL office prior to Covid-19 fallout.
It's tied up in offices with limited Personel

Then both the Players Union and the Jones need to push their case to rule on Gregory's behalf.
NFL league office is practically holding Randy/Cowboys hostage, and just because they are back-logged?
Goodell and his league officials have to be multi-tasking.

And Randy Gregory is still waiting on a response.

What's taking so long on a yes or a no.

Goodell sucks

I believe the hold up is with Randy Gregory. League was running previously "untouchable" players back into the system like it was candy. I am convinced the league is convinced Gregory is not serious about his comeback and deciding if its even worth their time and Dallas Cowboys time to reinstatement when odds for failure look unacceptably high.

The year is 2042 and Spaulding announces he will continue as Owner/President/GM/Head Coach. At his annual “State of the Cowboys” press conference, Spaulding says, “Yes, I know it’s been 47 years since we won a Super Bowl, but we're #1 in revenue baby!”

2042

The NFL has been defunct for 10yrs, but Randy Gregory has a little reefer farm @Baton Rouge LA.

And he’s singing this song...

If he didn't care about football, he wouldn't have kept himself in the best football shape as he could and he wouldn't have filed for reinstatement.

If he cared about football he would have stayed off pot and wouldn’t be dealing with these repeated suspensions. He knew what the rules were when he became an NFL player. The only news he ever makes is when he’s suspended and when he files for reinstatement.

Except for when he is on the field.

The 2018 version of Gregory is why everyone (like me) is excited to see him play again.

If he didn't care about football, he wouldn't have kept himself in the best football shape as he could and he wouldn't have filed for reinstatement.

Ditto here.

- Gregory is an even more naturally athletic edge rusher than even Dlaw
No one on the roster has his combination of 1st step get off quickness, natural bend and agility.
There's no telling what kind of accomplished special edge rusher he could have been if not for the suspensions that has took away his development over the years.

- At age 30, and being away from the game for 4 years, i just dunno what we will get from Alden Smith, and with his already fragile eggshell off field issues can make him gone forever. So that's a challenge by itself too.
Alden is a heckuva athlete too, but it's not on Gregorys' level. But he has terrific bend and agility himself, and much more of a master at hand and leverage use and getting rid of blockers off his body, and he's unbelievably strong in those lengthy arms and upper body.
and he's bulked up to an astounding 280 lbs.

- But if Gregory is out of the equation at RDE , then it's down to Smith, who likely has to have most of the reg season even getting back into
playing form. ...and then it's a hip-troubled Crawford who will be 31 yr. this year - and an average edge rusher if he were healthy.

Dorace Armstrong ? ..meh ..
Bradley Anae ? A rookie that has to learn NFL nuisances and a likely rotation role anyway. And i'm hearing Bradley may likely to backup Dlaw on the left side, rather than RDE..

That was two years ago. He looked as if he was about to emerge and fell off the wagon again. He’s missed more games due to suspension the past five years than he’s played in. He’s missed a lot of work being suspended and his development has been stunted. If anyone thinks if he’s reinstated he’s going to pick up where he left off two years ago it’s not happening, especially with the situation all the teams are dealing with now. The Cowboys haven’t seen Gregory in over a year. Missing games and preparation can erode a player skills. He’s spent a lot more time battling a drug problem than practicing football.

Has there ever been a Cowboy who did so little yet is talked about so much as Gregory?
From Day 1 Gregory has been nothing but a lightning rod for discussion and very little else.
Yeah, I wish it would have worked out and thought the pick was worth the risk at the time. Turns out he wasn't. Move on.

He had his chances and he laughed and continued to not understand the grave consequences of his actions, playing in the NFL is a privilege and not a given, Goodbye

Stupid.

It's not Randy with the problem. It was the league.

The league fixed the problem this year in the new agreement.

No more suspensions for herb.

Nobody know for sure why there hasn't been an answer yet but what you said about what is in the current CBA isn't necessarily right. That CBA and that part of the CBA is from the point it was signed going forward, from that point on no suspension for smoking weed but does not address those who currently are serving indefinite suspensions started before that CBA was signed. Those are still up to the league to lift or not to lift based on all of the information they have on each case. Shorty after this CBA was signed there was an interview with an attorney on FOXNEWS and they discussed the marijuana situation and that is what he said from what he had read about the CBA.

Matt Johnson, Rico Gathers and Darius Jackson. Andy Dalton will soon join the list.

The year is 2042 and we have won 22 straight SB’s.
Jerry from his own cruise line ship states, I told you Dak was our QB. As he still is playing. Naysayers still claiming he sucks though.

That's worth a double like! :laugh::laugh:
