Throw Nate Livings in there along with that terrible left tackle we picked up, Alex Barron, although he only started because of injury and don't think it was for very long ... although I've tried to block that out of my memory.

Noooo, you just brought that Washington game flooding back in. Romo won the game with a last second touchdown pass, only to get it taken away by Barron absolutely strangling Brian Orakpo.

Most of that pressure came through the left guard spot. Looney actually was fairly solid in pass protection himself. Where he failed, and why we need to replace him, is that he isn't very good at calling/identifying protections. There were many times when he help-blocked Martin's man while Williams or Su'a-Filo was getting beaten by the superior DL. Now, it's possible that that was the protection the coaches wanted, but if so, they were very, very stupid. Looney had trouble identifying blitzes, stunts, etc. The center has to see what's coming, especially from the second level, and make sure the other linemen know their assignments.

Very good points.

Looney did surprisingly well in most one on one in pass protection during reg season (until he got utterly dropped by Suh in the rams playoff game) but had issues with reacting to stunts and twist games up front and getting out on the middle LB at the second level of blocking
having a rookie OG in Williams didn't help matters, but really made matters twice as worst was having OL Paul Alexander running
the show with the OL unit.

Collins really had an horrid time in pass protection under Alexander. .

Rookie Tyler Biadasz said his surgically-repaired shoulder is good to go after being able to rehab and workout alone while in Wisconsin in the offseason. He should be among the candidates to replace Travis Frederick at center. I m good to go and I m... https://t.co/ly6MGn1TSK" / Twitter

Im up for this entire rookie draft but especially Badazzz. Well not especially but Im looking forward to see what he's got.

It's likely going to be pretty tough for Biadasz to win the C position from the get-go. Let's not be surprised if he's able to take over this year at some point later on. He has a lot to absorb before he's 100% ready in his development. It'll be an interesting challenge for him, though. He'll be closely watched. ;)

I agree ....with no presason games - I cant see him starting on day one.
