If Dallas finishes w 3-4 wins and gets a top 5 pick, it's still going to cost multiple firsts to get Lawrence...and expect to be held up for Lamb or Gallup also. Maybe a young OL as well.
It's not only about moving down a few slots, ita about what other teams may offer.
If I'm a team like Chicago, I'd deal the entire store for a shot to draft Lawrence.
Bottom line is theres no real shot Dallas gets Lawrence. It would have to begin with both Prescott and Dalton going down for the year on or around week one.
I don't see a scenario that we draft Lawrence either, and the cost would be so much he is now a rookie on a hollow shell of a team.....so your in rebuilding mode...if you go back to the start of the salary cap you will see that QB's on rookie contracts winning the superbowl is usually tied to a really good defense. All but one of those QB's didn't cost the team a lot of draft capitol (Wentz being the outlier if you count him as a SB wining QB). Your better, sooner odds say use a real bus driver (Dalton) and beef that D up through FA and roll with that. Beef the D way up through FA is the thing I can't see our GM doing.
