Won’t be surprised to see him retire during the season. He can’t pull himself out or put himself in the line up when ever he wants. JG let him do what he wanted and other TE never got a chance to play much.

Every Cowboys career was wasted for the past two decades, we should have over 25 Super Bowl by now, we’re always the best minus coaching.
This is gonna get good now. MM is a real HC, and has a real staff. And we still have good talent. Watch this team take off immediately.

I always thought that Witten was going to be one of those players that played their entire career for the Cowboys. When he left for the booth I thought that was going to be it. Then he came back and I thought it was just going to a farewell tour type thing since he didn't announce he was retiring to the booth until after the season was over. He had been a great TE but last season he showed no speed or quickness and dropped more balls than just about any other season. He was just a shell of what he once was. There is something to be said about leadership in the locker room but to be a real value to a team he also has to be able to still play at a high level and show by example. I've always really liked Witten and still do I just wish he hadn't decided to be a hanger on type player. I'm sure he would get offers to coach at any and all levels from high school to the NFL so it's not like he would starve to death if he wasn't playing. I just wish he cared more about his legacy.

Actually suits him well. Should've been a Raider 3 years ago.

Good riddance
It’s obvious you don’t understand what culture of the locker room means

After seeing him in the tv booth in a suite with a bad toupee, I guess I can handle this look.

I blame Jason and Jerry for most of the hate Witten received over the last few years. In 2017 he was still a good player who could have helped the team a lot in limited or situational playing time but weaksauce JG allowed him to decide to play every snap. I don't blame Witten for taking the opportunity to slide into the booth which if successful he could have parlayed into a 20 year gig. When it didn't work out and Witten decided to go back to football and make a couple million more before retiring (can't blame him for that), the Jones boys and Ginger should have told him thanks but no thanks but instead they let him come back and play every snap that he wanted to play which cost the team in some key situations. Bad coaching and bad management of a declining player which also made the fans sour on a Cowboys all time great.

I have always had the utmost respect for Witten and still do. The guy is a hardnosed football player who loves this game and I wish him the best with the Raiders. This is a man who missed 1 game in 15 years, he has played through injuries and has always given his all. Not many like him these days.

Jason is the man, and he looks great...

He’ll just keep racking up the catches... Only needs like 350 more...

Do that shiz, Witt!!!

Moved all the way to Vegas to not play in front of any fans. I read an article yesterday that Las Vegas will play the entire home schedule with no fans.

At this point in his career he's a progress stopper. Should've never had him back in '19. Yes it looks weird in a Raiders uniform, but he should've stayed retired 2 years ago.

He sat with the coaches at lunch (figuratively).

That's not who I wanted in the locker room. Parcells Witten sure, not Garrett Witten..he became everything we didn't like about the culture in the locker room if anything.

Yeah I don’t get the hate. Say what you want...the vatto has heart. Something many other NFL cats don’t have.
some people , dont like any player that leaves the cowboys lol. If they leave they are suddenly scum!
Then if they didnt like them much when they were here, it is even worse.

I usually root for any player that I liked who then leaves to another team.
And if I didnt like them, I just am glad they are gone, no need to insult them too.

Witten likes to play, he is like a big kid, who has stayed in good enough shape, and avoided injury's, to have a long career that is still going.

Oakland, and Gruden might be good for him, he might surprise some people, as Gruden might know how to use him better than JG ! lol u guys
think that is a possibility>??
