I’m curious to hear more about the how the Mara’s are “all over that league office” or if you were just being sarcastic.

water the grassy knoll. plant some tulips. the conspiracy theories abound. i want randy back. i think randy will be back. but i fully understand how the commissioner feels about a guy who said all the right things and consistently fell back to his old ways. randy's just getting a taste of his own medicine and he doesn't like it. he'll be reinstated soon.

Do not believe a word this clown says.

I remember his promise that the Cowboys would never have to worry about him after he was drafted.
However, they're the ones that drafted a guy that tested positive the week of the draft. Their propensity for ignoring red flags is ridiculous, they got just what they deserved on this one. He might have e legit gripe but they do not.

it wouldn't have been so bad if the cowboys had only allowed themselves to be hoodwinked once. but twice, thrice and four times is a bitter pill to swallow. being forgiving does not require one to be a total fool. no more than presumed innocence.

If the NFL has decided that smoking weed is no longer an infraction worthy of suspension, then I do not get the issue with this now.

When laws get changed, that is an open admission that the law was wrong. The fact that someone committed that while it was law shouldn't matter. When states began changing their laws concerning this, they released the people from prison serving time for that.

It doesn't really matter how many times Gregory or Gordon regressed into that behavior, that is no longer considered behavior worthy of detention.

Yep, he blew 4 chances but that has little to do with today when that is no longer considered a crime.

What I don't agree with is that he's being singled out because he's a Cowboy. What I do agree with is that this owner pushes it further than any other and I think Goodell is still pissed at him over that Hardy deal. He wanted that animal out of the league and he ends up on the most covered team. And therein lies the problem, the Cowboys are the media magnet so transgressions get magnified and there are just too many bad boys. So, while I do not agree that he's not reinstated because he's a Cowboy, he's not getting any favors because of it either.

People that were/are in prison for weed charges prior to changes in the laws are still there and the courts have ruled that the change in laws ONLY affect those going forward. The only ones that got released were the ones in jail awaiting trial who hadn't been convicted yet. The courts ruled that the sentences stand because they were tried and convicted on the laws at the time. Changed laws only affect those going forward. I have a 2nd cousin who did get out after the law changed but not because of the change in the law. About a year after the change he was then eligible for parole and a early release not because of the change in the law. Some states still have possession laws and are only a misdemeanor now instead of a felony and don't serve any jail time unless they are repeat offenders and then it's just jail and not prison. In the states where there are no legal open sales of weed people still get arrested and convicted for intent to distribute. People in Wisconsin go to Illinois to buy weed but the states says they have to use it there because if they bring it back depending the amount they will either be arrested for the misdemeanor for possession or the felony for intent to distribute.

You are correct, he knew the rules and was punished. Now that punishment is over, what's the hold up? He applied in March, and there has been given no reason, for the delay. He should be golfing, or preparing for camp, at this point.

I am on your side. I do think the way the NFL handles suspensions is not ok. Its at will and intransparent. I do not like the power Godell was given.

But i commented strictly what Gregory said. And Remember this guy had several incidents. Dating back even into his college career. So its not that the NFL has a reason to take itself some time for the decission.

Gregory also could have given his application way earlier. Why he waited so long i dont know. I think he did not do it in march. Didn’t he even wait until after the draft?! I remember the countless dicussions about why he still waits for it to do.

The rumors have been their for years.
Exactly and that’s all they are...rumors. I could just as easily make make a case of how the Cowboys have been favored by the league more than the Giants or several other teams.

Not buying Randy...........blaming CV19 testing is weak IMO. Make no sense at all.

Pretty sure Goodell is requiring that he submit a complete certified treatment plan from a licensed professional.
You have inside info to prove your point??

The first sentence said it all.........they have little or no confidence Randy can satisfy Goodell's/league requirement.

lol. What? The second sentence directly contradicts that and speaks more to the actual thoughts

Glim......I'll go back to what I've said before about Randy getting back in. We've been hearing Randy's ready fo reinstatement for almost two years now. For Randy to now blame CV19 is weak........maybe I'm being little hard but that how I see it.

I mean ... he hasn’t been denied, so what do you think it is? Make a determination one way or another. Doesn’t sound to me like he’s blaming Covid, he’s saying that’s what the league is telling him

so gregory is blaming the system is the reason why he cannot get reinstated. the guy needs to get a job because it looks like the nfl is not going to let him play again.

I see you're another one that thinks you can decide what rules should be enforced and which ones shouldn't. Whether you or anyone else doesn't like what the drug testing was like and punishment was given out prior to the current CBA, it was the rules then and EVERY player knew what they were. The current CBA does not wash away any suspension for drugs that was given prior to this CBA being signed. THOSE ARE THE RULES, but you think that's a rule you can just ignore because you don't like it. For some reason you think that professional athletes shouldn't have to worry about the consequences that regular people have to face in the real world. Most companies today require a drug test as a condition of being hired. Failing it results in not getting hired. Many of those same companies have annual or random test also. I worked for a company that I had to do the drug test to get hired and then either the month before, the month of or the month after the anniversary I was hired I got my notice to go do my drug test. All the employees know that a failed test can and did result in their termination. They have a zero tolerance for drug test failure.

Again you don't want anyone to follow the rules that you don't like You think that the progressive punishment for players to break the rules they knew about was wrong. The strikes shouldn't have been counted. Here's what you just don't get. Gregory is still sitting out there because he couldn't or wouldn't follow the rules at the time. So now they may be saying that Gregory couldn't comply with that rule and was a repeated offender so what makes us think that if reinstated he decides he needs PED's to be able to compete and this still can be suspended in this CBA. They are taking into consideration his history of not following the rules repeatedly. It's rules not necessarily that rule.

I could be wrong but I doubt that even if Gregory was reinstated and had a really good season that he would get honored for that season because he miss all those games because of multiple suspensions. That would be awarding him for repeatedly breaking league rules. Maybe in your mind were you think there shouldn't have been suspensions for smoking weed that makes sense, but I don't see it.

Wow. You sure do like rules.

But let all the rookies and current players smoke weed? Yeah Gregory, that will only work if you were drafted this year? Loser, go look for work, you could work for the NFL if you were drafted this year, but see you weren't, etc.

That's the argument against reinstating Gregory and yes, it is as dumb as it sounds.

Evidently, the NFL isn't doing what is should to adhere to the newfound spirit of serving the best interest of the players. Goodell and his cronies persist in fostering their agenda to punish those opposing their former stance to eliminate those seeking better drug resolutions than opium alternatives. The alternative of marijuana is far preferable to opium-based solutions. Yet, they insist upon outdated and ineffective solutions. Ignorance prevails.
