Wow, no Mama Loved the Roses?...In The Ghetto?...*GASP*
but since you brought it up...i'll bump this list up the time line.

the sessions Elvis held at American Studios in memphis in '69 have stood the test of time as arguably his best.
2 fantastic albums...from Elvis in memphis and back in memphis.
and some of his GREATEST singles...in the ghetto, suspicious minds, dont cry daddy & kentucky rain.
some of the best were real heart wrenchers...
•in the ghetto
•any day now
•you'll think of me
•dont cry daddy
•kentucky rain
•mama liked the roses
•long black limosuine
•without love
•this is the story
•do you know who i am

Elvis was in a dark place in '71...his mood swings started and boredom w/vegas set in.
he found solice on a very successful tour...including a historic performance at the boston garden.
and he found solice in his music.
by nature very private...but made his feelings public thru these great tunes at some great sessions in nashville...
