Another thing that stood out was when he was asked about Poe and Crawford being on PUP, and their progress, and expectations when they would return.
Now Garrett would have said Day to Day, and left it at that.

I was really hoping MM would not say that, and he did not. He said they are coming along with the rehab or however he stated it.

It was the game against New England and I couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t practice outside in the rain. The reports all freaking week was it was going to be a downpour all game long and guess what, it was and they looked like they haven’t ever played in the rain before. As a matter of fact, they played like they never even seen rain before. Just total ineptitude!

@Hennessy_King
What I liked was in typical JG fashion, he had the team practice outside the following week after getting criticized. When it didn’t matter.

I bet your wrong. Garrett is not going to improve the Giants offense one bit. It will still be the same.

we will see. With the personnel they have I bet getting away from the west coast based offense is going to be a big help. They are going to play a more physical brand of football and with the running back they have it will make them better instantly imo, if he embraces the power role.

The staff has Garett...think whatever you want he has seen it all and has an offense he knows how to run.
Columbo - had great results here and is a guy the players will love.
Jerry Schuplinski - tom brady's former qb coach.
Derrek Dooley - Former cowboys wr coach is an assistant
Freddie Kitchens - coaching tight ends...another guy who has a history of success with running the ball and a ton of experience
Burton Burns - Rb coach who was a long time alabama rb coach so he is going to further push this physical style.

They are going to be a physical running team which will help the whole team from time of possession and keeping the defense off the field to better situations on 3rd down for the qb. Now the question to me is Barkley the kind of guy that can play the way this offense will require. Zeke is a perfect match for a physical running game because the runs that go for 1 yard are just as important as the big ones. Barkley is more the barry sanders type. It will be interesting to see plus there backups are not very good imo, in lewis and gallman.

i'm still skeptical of the OL coach. As i research his most recent history he doesn;t have an impressive resume as primary OL coach - and his last stop in that OL coach role with the Colts was a disaster- among the worst vs pass and vs run

and i wondered if Columbo who did at masterful job at pass protection for Dak, could have been given the task and responsible in MM's zone stretch scheme; he was asst coach under ex-OL coach Frank Pollack who ran a zone scheme under Bill Callahan,

Dunno the difference between Packers zone scheme vs Callahan/Pollack zone scheme, and how much they similar or different ,but OL coach Joe philibin is just gonna have to flat convince me that Columbo overall wont be missed,
That’s true. After you said that I started looking into it as well. I’m hopeful it all comes together and that’s not the weakness from coaching to the players. With Frederick retiring we need to be on point.

I just read an article on NFL written by David More from the Dallas Morning News of an interview he had with McCarthy. The Prescott haters who have said that McCarthy was forced to accept Prescott or when McCarthy was hired and said he was looking forward to working with Prescott he only said that as a front, won't like this article. In this interview McCarthy said how IMPRESSED he is with Prescott now that training camp has opened. He said how much he likes Prescott. The Prescott haters won't like this article. It also goes to say McCarthy says that there is a lot of Garrett's offense that still will be used with changes he has made.

The thing about the impact of the Covid thing..

not going to Cali and instead transitioning to the Star for the preseason work..

Is extremely a big break for us.

Another thing we must acknowledge as being Jerrah driven.

Add this to how the draft under Jerrah went..and negative comments about Jerrah the GM are rapidly disappearing.

Hope it keeps up.

When this covid thing is over and in future years I'll bet the Cowboys will return to Oxnard for training camps.

I'm a bit confused.......during his initial presser, he stated he would keep/use KM playbook coz it's an easier transition for him to learn than players learning a new playbook. I'm not that's what he saying here.......his statement about the new language is throwing me off.

Columbo wanted to stay........he made that pretty clear questioning why he was let go but this tells me MM trust Philpin to handle his scheme/players more so than Columbo.

This is huge. I couldn't believe how inept the staff was when it came to these little things. I can't remember what game it was last year but I remember it was supposed to rain on sunday and during the week it rained and he had them practice inside. I'm like wth they will be in the rain when they play why not take the opportunity.
I dont know but I remember Gronkowski clowned Garrett before the Patriots game about how we dont practice in inclement weather and then reactionary loser tries to start doing outside the box stuff right after. Just a joke of a coach

A lot of the playbook, meaning the actual plays is still going to be used but the terminology is changing. That terminology is what he's talking about.

I did not hear it’s a process. He did not say day to day either when asked about Crawford and Poe.
