It's a free world to think whatever you want but thank god that's not an official policy. What an employee earns should just be between him and his employer... the fewer rules and regulations the better.

you have to admire the sheee amount of energy it takes to churn out these posts day in and day out.
Hahaha so true!

I doubt anyone has changed their opinion after formulating their own opinion so it's pointless really.

That SB year he shredded the Cowboys. He dam near beat them with a broken back. He beat em last year with WRs off the street. Its not always how he does against the Cowboys but how he does against common opponents. Wentz lost to Detroit and Miami last year but beat the Bills, Bears, Jets, Packers. All good teams.
Plus Miami were a much better team later in the season. They also beat the Patriots which cost them a bye week

A lot of people are in line for a reality check after the first three games of next season. Last season we started off against three weak teams and crucially when they were all truly horrific. Given the strength of the roster it's almost unbelievable that we went 5-8 thereafter.

This season we start off against the Rams, Seattle and the Falcons.

If we can start 2-1 that would be a very good foundation.

That explains Wentzie's big pay day. His Superbowl win.... oh wait.
Excactly. And Goff. And Cousins. And Garappolo.

This is a goofy thread - unrealistic. Not every QB that is capable of being QB on a SB winning team will win during his rookie contract, and it would be ridiculous for teams to continually bail on QBs who didn’t do that but that they otherwise feel good about. Both Drew Brees and Payton Manning didn’t win a playoff game until year 6 or a SB until year 9.

I’m not saying Dak is their level, but this highlights that a QB cannot be defined early in their career by not having won a SB yet. All a team can do is decide if it has a quality enough QB, make a commitment, and build with that.

Jerry and McClay should make Dak play under the franchise tag and make him prove that he is worth big contract by winning a SB. No excuses. DO NOT CAVE IN.

I am just asking for deep run into playoffs. I mean he has to do that first before we even talk about him being good player. Then from there we can start new conversation about contracts and super bowls.

I agree the title of this thread is unrealistic.

But the point to make is that Prescott has played on good teams every season so far in his career. We are due a season where we suffer a load of injuries to key players like the Eagles, Commanders and a lesser extent the Giants have had in recent seasons.

A QB needs to make it count on good teams whilst he has the chance.

So, for 8 years nobody could talk about Brees or Manning as good players ...

Hey, it’s your argument.

He has mostly played on good offenses, although not without issues like some believe. But defenses haven’t been special, and it’s almost universally accepted that the coaching staff has been a problem.

I do, however, want to see more, just like you. And that includes more from Dak. But It doesn’t all fall on Dak. SB wins don’t happen solely on the back of one player.

So while everyone else gets paid Dak has to win a superbowl to get a new contract?. This offseason needs to end so the subject can change.
Because Dak wants what Zeke, Cooper, and Lawrence make COMBINED.

I don't think the defense could have done much more with the parts that they have given how much investment has been pumped in to the offense. Rams game aside where our run defense got gutted apart for various reasons. I agree it isn't all on Prescott.

It will be interesting how we get on in the close, difficult, competitive games.

Will McCarthy and Co be the difference - we shall see.

I'm gutted Byron Jones joined the Dolphins. I know he was asking for top dollar and people bemoaned the lack of interceptions but he was an excellent CB to cover opposing teams' top receivers.

Yes we drafted Diggs but realistically I'm not expecting big things from him next season. CB is such a difficult position to learn for rookies especially with the modern rules.

Dak deserved a better contract after his rookie season. The Jones boys messed up when that did not happen. Making him stick to that 4th rounder deal for 4 years sent a message to Dak that has him squeezing every penny he can get out of his current negotiations. The Jones boys created this mess.
They offered him a contract more than what he was worth.
He turned it down

I'm not quite understanding this post.
