Bro,I'd have done the same thing, that was worse then seeing emmitt in a cardinal uniform, imo.
Hahaha. He knew it was one of those sports "I don't wanna talk about " situations. I can laugh about it now but I won't lie Tony and Randy white were my first football heroes. Seeing Tony playing for DENVER hurt.

J23..I hear you..I'm from Pittsburgh and I got to see TD lot, and when we drafted him,I was elated,I thought for sure it was gonna be Ricky bell... and as far as the manster,he was and still is my favorite player...when I played midgets I played Dt and tried his 4 point stance,I hated it,lol..when I got to jr high and high school,I switched to Harvey's 3 point instead.

Because of Witten; Witten will make the Hall of Fame. No QB made him. He played pretty well with all of them.
He had a much better career with Romo. Yes, he was younger, but they were on the same page.

He was in his prime playing in a pass happy offense, but even in 2010 he put up over 1k yards when Romo missed most of the season, the bulk of which was with Kitna and MgGee.

His numbers stated coming down in 2013 & 2014 when Romo was still the QB. Even in the 2014 game against the Cardinals Romo missed and Weeden played, Witten caught 6 of 7 targets for 62 yards which was 19 yards more than his season average that year.

He was pretty much the same player regardless of who the QB was.

There's no way to know what "would have been", without Romo throwing to him most of his career. The simple inarguable fact is that he earned most of his stats with Romo at QB.

I don’t disagree he got most of his stats with Romo. I disagree he is a HoF player because of Romo. He is a HoF player regardless of who his QB would have been. Romo didn’t make Witten the way he may have made Laurant Robinson and, to me, that’s what your original post suggests.

No, I'm not saying Romo made Witten look better than he is. I'm just saying maybe another QB wouldn't have thrown to him as much, or as well, over that large a span.

True. It’s hard to know with any QB/receiver duo. Would Harrison have been as good without Manning? Who knows? I think occasionally there is a connection between QB and receiver that is unique, and benefits both in a way that might not have been the same if paired with someone else.

And usually it’s the receiver that is the bigger beneficiary of that kind of connection because he only has one QB at a time to connect with, and a QB has options even if the connection isn’t quite the same with the others. Welker with Brady comes to mind. Welker wasn’t ultra talented, but he connected with Brady somehow and there was a unique trust and communication that made Welker more productive than he probably would have been otherwise. I think Aikman and Irvin had that. And that’s how I see Romo and Witten.

Sadly his 5 yard catch with no YAC is no longer the needed.
It’s amazing how he averaged 9 ypc while only catching 5 yard passes without any yards after the catch.

I get that fans feel it was time to move on from Witten, and I agree myself, but I don’t get the animosity some have toward him, or the need to talk bad of him. There is no indication he was anything other than sincere in his efforts and willing to put in the time and hard work.

There was a time when teams did not want to play the raiders.... They were nasty, and it didn't matter what their record was, they were there to cheap shot you, kick you, bite you, lol... it didn't matter.

The hated eagles are still like that.
