I gotta say I am a little worried they cramp it down out throats the way we did to teams Daks and Zekes rookie year. I remember there was a stat that pretty much everyone lost the week after playing us. We have really fallen fast after that one brief promising year.

Another thing that stood out was when he was asked about Poe and Crawford being on PUP, and their progress, and expectations when they would return.
Now Garrett would have said Day to Day, and left it at that.

I was really hoping MM would not say that, and he did not. He said they are coming along with the rehab or however he stated it.

Lol, pretty much the same thing:rolleyes:

What did everyone expect? He's "extremely impressed". What did you think he was going to say?

.....What do I think of Dak Prescott?....He's terrible!.....No wonder this team wasn't going anywhere!......Of course, he's our quarterback.... because Jerry knows best......yep.....Jerry..... knows...... BEST!!!........Lord, what did I get myself into? I had Bret freekin' Favre. I had Aaron Rodgers. Is this how you even things out? Is it?....with Zack....Jack......Dak.......Aw, who gives a "_______"! .

What's that?.......Am I going to feed Zeke?....Have you seen Zeke? He looks like I'm the only one is this God forsaken state that HASN'T been feeding him! Stop feeding Zeke!

Yeah, the receivers are great ...Just wonderful.... I'm extremely impressed with their professionalism, especially in the way they've all approached me privately and suggested they be the #1 target because the other two are SO selfish!...... I came back for this? .....to be a damm babysitter to a bunch of little "_____"?

But hey! It's not like I can do anything about it....we'll just have to hope that Jerry's....uh, my....young genius, who knows absolutely everything even though he hasn't reached puberty yet, offensive coordinator figures it all out!

Defensively....defensively..... how the "____" should I know?.... What am I , Wade Phillips? I have an actual defensive coordinator......when he's sober....He was a good man before he started drinking.....last month.

Okay, everybody, thanks so much for allowing me to talk football for five minutes.....I'm sure you guys just can't wait to waste my time yapping about all the world's krap problems and how I intend to deal with them.....You're all just looking for that little slip up, aren't you?....You know what I'm talking about! That one little sentence I utter that becomes your next sport headline and screws up my life...aren't you!!!

Why, Mike.....WHY!!??....Why did you do this to yourself?....There I was, enjoying my retirement....fishing....hunting.....Netflix....I had it all!!!....But, no.......Jerry calls.....and now I just have to make history!!!.....History?....More like career suicide!...What an idiot I am!

Sorry....was there any more questions......Does anybody have a sedative?

I don’t know why fans expect different. The coaches don’t care about these press conferences, they do them because it’s an obligation that goes with the job in the NFL.
:thumbup:you may hear an occasional blimp but that's about it.

Heard Mike said they will practice outside more times than not. No more cushy, AC practices.

Go think back to how trashed the team was from practicing in the heat when camp was in San Antonio.

Literally the entire reason the facility was built.

Garrett spoke like everything he was saying was being said for the first time.

Garrett's philosophy on the press conferences was two fold.

1. He was around nick saban for a year and understood or liked the way saban said nothing in PC's.

2. He was following Wade Phillips who A. was a train wreck in PC's and B. was fired a little bit based off the public perception of those PC's.

Wade had to follow a man who was like a pro entertainer and excelled at the art of the press conferences.

When Garrett took over it was at the peak of the insanity of the local and national medias attention to this organization. From Parcells, owens being signed, Romo taking over bledsoe, Losing to the giants in the playoffs, the loss to baltimore to close texas stadium..., cutting owens and roy williams, the new stadium, losing to open the new stadium, winning in the playoffs vs philly, romo getting hurt vs ny and getting blown out by GB after losing to jax and leftwich saying the defense looked like it wasnt trying...........

It was full on insanity for a few years. I don't know how any player focused from 06-09. I really don't. Garrett took over the press conference and basically did a saban/belichick persona impression with no humor and no emotion. It was essentially what was needed at the time in 10 and 11. It got old fast though and there were lots of questions about a lot of things they were doing and he refused to answer and in most cases passed the buck. Wade phillips and bill parcells didn't pass the buck and would answer for the most part in their own way....garrett just stared straight ahead with the same robotic answer.

it will be interesting to see how McCarthy handles things when they get going. In GB he liked to get mad and yell at the reporters. IMO that simply will not work here. IF he does that he will just open a can of worms. thankfully for him there seems to be at least imo over the last couple of years a bit of cowboys exhaustion nationally when it comes to little things.

Jason Garrett ran out of people to blame.

I'm really enjoying hearing the direct answers of MM, without listening to the same worn out phrases. It's like a breath of fresh air.
