I don't think people comprehend the complexity of a pro sports contract.

Just go listen to Patrick Mahomes and what he can not do while under contract for the next 12+ years to start understanding a fraction of what is included besides the money.

When you commit that hard to what you do...it's not as big a deal as what you think.

Hopefully they are done blinking..

Dak is not worth what he is asking and thankfully they didn’t give it.

Most of these guys getting huge deals have teams going to or winning Superbowls when they are on rookie deals.

Dallas should pressure him to take a 28 -30 million dollar a year deal that goes void if he gets to a Super Bowl. I’d even settle for a NFC championship void
.

You surprise me sometimes .........

Dak wants to be a good guy. He also wants a mega deal. Why shouldn't he. He doesn't want to be labeled a fool for taking a home discount offer. Ergo, the need for a tough agent.

He said it's just about every activity you can think of. But as far as I see it, no one can stop him. Unless he has a serious injury as a result, what are they going to do?

Does not matter or effect anything going forward. Dak Prescott $31.5M guaranteed salary is the highest of any QB salary per cap and 4th highest for cash spent for a QB in 2020.

Todd France or CAA really was negotiating years only and Jerry/Stephen wanted longer. Todd France got Tannehill his money $6.1M more than Dak for cash spent in 2020. Therefore, I do not thing money was the problem.

Therefore, we will see what CAA or France does for Prescott in 2021.
If France was really negotiating years only, he might be the worst agent in history. That's so inane it makes zero sense.
It would be weird if France remains his agent.

Disagree. France is not a tough agent, he's a saboteur, a blackmailer. A tough agent would've gotten a deal done.

I said a tough agent. I didn't mention any names. Personally, i think he blew this deal. He underestimated stephen's resoluteness. He didn't get the pie.

Dak Prescott’s agent decision could affect the Dallas Cowboys

by Angel Torres3 minutes ago
This news could affect contract negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott
Like you, I was done talking about quarterback Dak Prescott‘s contract situation. But leave it to the Dallas Cowboys to always be in the news for one reason or another. It’s now been reported that Prescott’s super-agent, Todd France, and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) have mutually parted ways.

This is a typical end of week bombshell that is designed at downplaying the gravity of the situation by allowing it to dilute over the weekend. The ripple effect this could have on negotiations might determine the length and money the Cowboys will eventually payout.

There little doubt the contract numbers Prescott will likely ask for will be astronomical compared to where everyone believed they would be merely a year ago. But this departure between France and CAA could be exactly the type of break the Cowboys’ front office needed.

Did France hold the Cowboys at ransom during contract negotiations? It appeared that way to me and many other fans. Widening the spectrum and realizing that two other franchised tagged NFL players that France manages also didn’t get deals done with their current team makes me wonder just how hard of a bargain he drives.

Pittsburgh Steelers pass rusher Bud Dupree and Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons, both of whom are both France clients, also had difficulties coming to terms with their teams. This begs the question of their teams are simply done playing games with this super agent.

Interesting article here........

Well, I am glad they didn't get a deal done and now we get to see a QB on a tag for only the 3rd time and he is a QB that is as polarizing among the fans as much as Romo so what's not to like about this?

If those pissed that he didn't get the long term deal are upset because it could cost more to do a deal next year, so what? If they want to do a deal then he will have proven to more people that he can be the franchise QB. And don't act like the lack of cap space is what limits this brain trust, it is the mismanagement of that cap that creates that.

And those on the other side of this. The QB, the one you don't like, will have gone back to back on prove it deals for the first time in Cowboys history, I'd say if he passes that test, he deserves the big bucks.

Dak didn't even need an agent. How hard could the negotiations have been? I could have negotiated myself. $50M Signing Bonus, $75M guaranteed, 5 year $150M plus whatever standard incentives Jerry and Stephen want to include.

Done. And no agent fees.

It honestly would have taken me one minute to strike a deal with Jerry and Stephen.

I know Romo was pleased with your work.

I did say who would trust a deal of this magnitude with a place kicker in the Arena football league. The guy is a charlatan.

Any of us could have got Tannehill paid with a similar deal. The Titans almost reached the Superbowl winning away to the Ravens and the Patriots and importantly changed the fortunes of their offense during the regular season.

The Chargers have a rookie QB and are able to overpay for a top 5 first round pick.

Hilarious how France was unable to get this deal done and once again credit to the front office for not caving in.

Looks that way to me also.

Hey, I understand bargaining and getting what you can and all that. However, there's a point where you're just asking too much and that becomes a detriment to the guy you are representing.

I would negotiate myself, pay a team of lawyers 10K to look it over. Done. Easy peasy.
Completely agree and I stated the same in another thread. I'm surprised given that Prescott seems to have his head screwed on - why instruct a parasite to dictate his future. He should have backed himself but it seems like he will have another chance to do so. The front office is old school. They much prefer having direct dialogue with the player in these type of negotiations.

Sure disappointed me. I had thought a lot of him before this clusterfudge, where Dak and his agent pretty much refused to negotiate.

Canned beans are for the lazy. I prefer mine cooked in terra cotta pots. Andouille and tasso. A staple on the ranch during hunting season.
Slow cooking in terra cotta is amazing. I make Pho in them and... I have no words for the yumminess.
Maybe yumminess.

I'm with you bro. Never tried pho in them, but it sounds like a great idea. Pollo al ajillo was made for the cazuela.

So Dak parts ways with an agent who is known to set the market with his clients. Yet some how Dak is greedy... interesting.

Has Dak actually parted ways? I haven't read the entire thread yet but to this point, I haven't seen anything that confirms he has.
