I'm I reading this right.....his atty is saying the incident happened months ago? Either way, it's interesting he's using this to attack investigators and Commanders decisions, rather than defend Derrius's action. Just me but it appears he more concern about his career than the charges.

The easiest way to get your client acquitted is to establish flaws in the investigative process.

They're thinking he's already shredded his knee and now he just strangled his girlfriend. They've had enough negative PR for one summer.
If they had a pic of him smoking a crack pipe they would grave a trifecta

Had Guice ever even played a down? I don’t remember him ever making the field. You don’t know what you never had.

He’s actually been pretty good at this level when healthy. The problem is he’s never healthy. He banged out 120+ yards and 2 TDs his last game before getting hurt (again) last year.

Prob not worth a flier given the off field stuff.

There’s bound to be someone on this board who would love to sign him regardless the serious crimes he’s committed. Some here would sign a serial killer if they thought they would help the team.

Funny, our fans automatically presume Guice is guilty as charged. If this was Zeke (or any other Cowboy player) we'd have our wannabe forum attorneys denying all charges and victim blaming, lol.

The fans? hell the owners of this team would sign him in a ny minute if we were lacking a running back. Then they would tell everyone he is misunderstood and they have a program to help him.

No team, not even the Cowboys would show interest in a player who’s been accused of domestic violence that involved strangulation.

not in 2020 but I do believe in a normal year a few weeks into the season and some injuries and the jones's would be willing to take the PR hit. They have done it time and time again. There was no reason to have pacman jones and greg hardy but they did. And they did it again this year in Aldon Smith.

I can assure you not the Cowboys or ANY team will go anywhere near Guice with the serious charges he’s facing. He’s not going to be playing football anytime soon if ever again with the nature of the offenses he’s accused of. He was arrested for felony domestic violence charges that included one count of strangulation, three counts of assault and battery and one count of destruction of property. Outside of being charged with murder this is about as bad as it gets. His legal issues are going to take a long time to play out. Once Washington found out the serious nature of his crimes they wasted no time releasing him. If he’s able to somehow beat all these charges, which isn’t likely it will almost certainly take several years before he’s allowed back in the league. A player doesn’t have to be convicted of a crime to be suspended indefinitely by the league. Not Pacman Jones or Aldon Smith faced as many serious charges as Guice.

Another big reason Guice’s career could be done is he plays RB and good RBs can be found in every round of the draft. No team is going to absorb a PR nightmare signing an RB who was charged with strangling their girlfriend along with a list of other charges. If he’s able to avoid jail time with any of these charges the league will keep him out for years and by the time he’s eligible to play again no one will want him.

Can anyone think of an NFL team that’s gone through a worse month than Washington? What a nightmare!

This has been the offseason from hell for Washington. 2020 has been a miserable year for everyone, especially for them.
