"and said his top priority is learning what Moore does,"

Like Garrett did in Philly when the game/division was on the line & Moore sat our #1 & #2 receivers on 4th & goal?! Lawd help us.

Did you expect him to install an entirely new offense with a month long training camp and no preseason?

All of those situations will be interesting for sure. I think what will help Dak more than anything, is if the defense and ST's improve enough to have better field position. Or if they get a lead, the defense can keep or help keep it.

Also will Mahomes have a SB hangover, will the team. How will Lamar Jackson do after his MVP season. The thing there is, both have great coaching and FO's so I do not see a drop off for either.
We can only hope but after 20 odd years I don't expect much.

Lol Rodgers went to an NFC Championship last year.

Packers were better without McCarthy. They made the right move.

Hopefully all of those things McCarthy spoke about were real and he isn’t going to be a stubborn coach that refuses to change. That is not what we need.
This year will be the bench mark on what MM is or isn't. I do not want to judge him either way but it is interesting no one wanted him out of GB. I hope he isn't another yes man that caters to Jerry's whims and wants. I look forward to the change and seeing what effect this has on Dak. Should be a fun year regardless of what happens record wise. With the players on board if this team isn't in the CCG then coaching didn't matter.

Yep. Good post. Change for sake of change but with huge question marks as well as I agree with what you mentioned with the yes man comment. Ineresting and fun year ahead. Maybe more interesting than fun, lol.

Rodgers called him the dumbest coach he had ever been around, now it looks like the SL, JG offense that KM runs will be basically the same. I hope the Cowboys didn't dump one idiot for another. Should be a great year to watch with all the questions over this team. I can hear it now, "we were not on the same page" as MM throws KM under the bus.

We shall see what MM is made of. A offensive guru having a hard time learning the terminology. MM was unemployed last year AR was in the championship game. Go ahead and slap your face some more maybe it will knock some sense in your head.

Would you have rather have kept Garrett? If not, did you have someone else in mind?

Garrett should never of got the job, I don't have a problem with MM, I just will wait and see what the results are. But I would think that MM saying it is hard learning the terminology is a bit disquieting.

I doubt it's as bad as you may be thinking, but I savvy your concern.

Appreciate the reply!

We were #1 ranked in yards. But couldn’t put up points. So many drives from deep in our territory. Missed FG or drive ending penalties or poor execution. Bad passes or dropped passes.
I think a big problem inside the 30 was kellens play calling, too much passing, not enough running.
In NE, they had a 2nd and 6 at NE 10, the first play was a pass, after that 2 inc passes, and then kick the fg.
Since it was in the pouring rain, and ewok was running good, I would have ran 3 times, which would include going for it on 4th if necessary,
and go all out for the td there.
If they had scored a td there , they would have led at half 13-10 and maybe they win it.
kellen had bad play calling in minn and phil game at end, and overall passed too much. He rarely tried to steadily run the ball when run was working.

First he said they would keep the verbiage Moore was using and then he said they would keep some of it. The next thing he says it it is a new offense and now he's walking that back and I can only assume the conditions that he has to work under have caused him to be very fluid and it is most fortuitous for him to have brought Moore back.

With limited prep time, it is better for him to tweak and see where he can improve this offense so it fares better against the better teams than to bring in a new one.

This was the #1 O last season but that ranking does not tell us how it ranked in the 8 losses against the 8 wins, that's the real story.
Well the situation isnt ideal for changing the playbook, but some things really need to be changed.
Like when the defense is getting to qb in 3-4 seconds, and the wr are running 5+ second deep routes lol, that has to change.

I didn’t see anywhere that McCarthy said he was having a hard time learning the terminology... just that he has more to learn than the players.

1. That’s the smart move with an offseason that didn’t happen. Less for the players to learn.

2. If he doing the smart thing and leaving terminology the same as much as possible, then of course he will have more to learn than anyone else.

Why that would bother you, I have no idea.

Besides, he’s strictly talking terminology there, not concepts. I’m sure he went over concepts with Moore during the spring/summer months when they were scheming up the offense.

It is going to be a different offense in large part... but the terminology will be what the players already knew.

That’s adjustments, not playbook.

However, I do agree with you that adjustments need to be made in the scenario you gave... for sure!

How do you know that KM will run the same offense as Garrett? Maybe it was Garrett forcing him to run that boring offense?

The first few games of the season we ran a totally different offense. Then when we went into New Orleans that all was thrown out the window because KM was getting too much credit.

Agreed. But not so sure it was just Moore. JG always did that crap in the red zone. They expect us to run so we will totally fool them and pass 3 times in a row.
