Actually I think you are right. Forrest Greg was an O-lineman on the team, but I think it was Kramer they ran behind on that play.
Yeah that was kind of his claim to fame.

Took the man damn near 50 years to get into the HOF.

I'm going to say it was his receivers. All Eli did was chuck it up and far as he could. It seems he always had 2 or even 3 receivers with radar that would flat out go get the ball.

Eli Manning threw for more yards against the cowboys than any other quarterback has thrown for against one team I believe. His TD #'s are up there too.

Much like Romo vs the giants even when we beat them Manning would have good days...Until coughlin left that is...after that the organization fell apart. In those big rivalry years Manning threw the ball all over the building each time they played just like romo did.

Forest Greg - that's the O-Linemen they ran behind for the game winning TD in the Ice Bowl.

No, they snuck behind the center, Jerry Kramer. Jetho Pugh could only slide on the ice since he had no traction

Yeah, I was corrected on that earlier. I knew it was Kramer, but for some reason my feeble brain took me to Gregg.

Fun fact. Forest Gregg ended his career as a Dallas Cowboy and was on the team when we won our first Super Bowl--Super Bowl VI

Landry signed him, Herb Adderley and Lance Alworth not just for the star power, but to put people on the team who know how to win championships.

I had never heard that's why those guys were added, but I can see Landry thinking that way. Ditka would also fall in that category.

Adderley still had some gas in the tank, although I think he retired after just a few years with Dallas, but the others were clearly fading or in Gregg's case, faded. They still got something out of Alworth and Ditka though. As I recall, both caught a TD pass in the SB win against the Dolphins.

I think you forgot the most important one, Jerry Jones
LOL! The past and current #1 CK. I have cousins who’s a big Philly fan. He swears Jerry is as popular as any e-girl player and says they all hope Jerry lives forever.

lol - that may be a little exaggerated to gig you some, but I don't doubt there is some truth to it.

Since I've been a fan, Rodgers has been the arch nemesis by far.

He always gets the best of the Cowboys when it matters most.

A list of the top ten players on other teams that made us miserable. The players are split, for the most part, by those on playoff teams and those in the NFC East. A few of them are both. The players selected didn't necessarily have the best stats, they were the daggers in some of the Cowboys most historic losses.

1. Lynn Swan - WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

2. John Riggins - RB, Washington Commanders

3. Dwight Clark - WR, San Fransisco 49ers

4. Charley Taylor- WR, Washington Commanders

5. Aaron Rodgers - QB, Green Bay Packers

6. Wilbert Montgomery - RB, Philadelphia Eagles

7 Aeneus Williams - CB, Cardinals and Rams

8. Randy Moss - WR, Minnesota Vikings

9. Terry Bradshaw - QB, Pittsburgh Steelers

10. Ricky Watters - RB, 49ers and Eagles

Dishonorable Mention:

Ken Houston, Santana Moss, Joe Montana, Eric Dickerson. Art Monk, Paul Warfield, Sonny Jergeson, Diron Talbert, Jerome Brown, Deion Sanders, Mike Curtis, Leroy Kelly, Harold Carmichael. DeSean Jackson, Terrell Owens, Lito Shephard, Dexter Manley, Clyde Simmons

I'm sure the list is incomplete and there are opinions on the ranking. However, I would find it difficult to pick a player other than Lynn Swan for #1. Four receptions for 161 yards and a TD in Super Bowl 10, seven receptions for 124 yards and a TD in Super Bowl 13. In those two SB's combined, he caught 11 passes for a total of 285 yards and 2 TD's. That was an average of 25.9 yards a reception.

I didn't see Jackie Smith on that list :)
Yeah....I kind of meant actual opponents, although Jackie Smith could certainly be considered as a member of the Cardinals when they were in the same division.

However, we have Jason Garrett, Jerry Jones, the referees, Roger Goodell, God, .......

What I;m talking about are those opponent players most responsible for smashing dreams, ending seasons. That can certainly be done in the regular season with those division opponents. And I agree that Eli Manning does belong there. His whole early career was about pulling plays out of his "___" just at the wrong time for the Cowboys.

I mean, you beat the Giants twice, badly, during the regular season and then play terrible in the 3rd game, the one that actually means something. Whereas Eli has his trademark stupid expression for three quarters and then, abacadabra! Cowboys go home, and a 6th seed 9-7 team replaces Cowboy destiny with theirs. Unreal, but it happened.

I was actually trying to be humorous and was referring to Smith's dropped pass in the SB while playing for the Cowboys. But he was a tough opponent in all those years with the Cardinals.

This list better start with

1. Jerry Jones
2. Jason Garrett

Otherwise it’s garbage
