This is mad disrespect to Anae though.

I guess they figure with social distancing they'll be safe.

A 9 million dollar backup ?
that's just unprecedented keeping a guy with that high price that would no longer need
to be even a rotational DE with the likes of Alden, Greogy, Anae already on board.

Nickel DT ? - that's why we drafted Gallimore so high to put him in that role.
and he would cost us little to literally nothing dead cap wise to cut him, ..and with no preseason, and plenty DEs in camp

As I said in another response, unless they need the cap funds now, makes sense to either keep him at his current contract or ask him to take a pay cut. With the virus, with the possibility of players getting affected, having Crawford around makes some sense. If they give him is outright release, all they probably would do is roll over the savings into next year's cap.

That's not true. You only have to spend 89% of the cap and you can roll the useo portion to next year.

Since he is a fa after the season, wouldn't that contract be off the books at the start of the league year in 2021.

he's way better inside as a nickel pass rushing DT than what he was at DE.
But he'll also be taking reps and snaps away from rookie Gallimore in rush packages.
This is wrong he had i think 1 sack last year playing inside. Most of his pressure was when he lined up at DE. He was average against the run at de. Below average at DT. He graded out on pff at an abysmal 58 grade. He sucks and should have never even been given an extension

and how many sacks did he have at DE where he wasn't looping to the inside on stunts,
.. and how many games did he play in 2019 ?

If we sign Clowney then we are clearly thinking about starting Dalton... Mitigate team killing InTs..

Wow, that is a steal. JJ is really going for it this year.

Typical peanut deal, try him out in camp for free. Looks like they can cut him and he gets nothing. I’m surprised no signing bonus. He’s getting up there in years but I’m stoked about the 3 new DL starters! I hope he can still play, based on the stats you’ve got to pencil him in for 8 sacks. Expect him to bust his butt in camp it’s 3 mill if he can just make the team.

Wow. Wonder if this the end of Gregory in Dallas?

Anywho. Great offseason for this team. New leader, great draft and a very good FA.

Why cut Gregory? He is still young and under rookie deal. Nice rotation though plus you can slide Griffin inside on pass rush downs.
