Yeah this is the kind of move we praised the Eagles, Pats, Saints for making. Good job front office. Yes even I can give Jerry Kudos.

I admit to feeling frustrated that the Cowboys hadn't done enough to solidify the RDE spot. Any talk of Crawford there as an option is ridiculous. Just look at the film. And seeing teams like the 49ers and others making quality, affordable signings while we seemed to be doing doing was upsetting. But this move was a stroke of brilliance and the Joneses and the entire organization deceive a huge amount of credit for it.

The uncertainty of the season and salary demands is my guess. Regardless, on paper he looks like a perfect fit. Our DL is now a top unit on the team.
there are a handful like Griffin and Clowney etc that were holding out for top ay and teams weren't biting , they are making concessions.. it happens every year..it worked for Quinn and its what griffin wants up his market value by having abig year on team that has major exposure,..

Yes, that's my take as well. It should prove interesting to see what this organization might do about Crawford and his situation now. At some point, he's likely to be considered a hinderance to the youngsters behind him with the upside to simply have more value. Guys like Joe Jackson, Armstrong, Bradlee Anae, Jelks and maybe even others would be sure to benefit from his being cut. I can't help but wonder what the future holds for him here, if anything.

Fans often use the term 'progress stopper' when the idea of bringing in a potential free agent is talked about. Well, that's all that Crawford is at this point, a profess stopper. The team would be forced to cut a cheap, young player with potential upside in order to keep Crawford around. And they would be grossly overpaying him in the process, and risking yet more injury issues and setbacks.

Every sign and rational decision points to moving on from him.

And jump on board with a team that has a legit shot to win it all along the way.

Someone tell me why he was still out there....Please and thanks.
Truthfully he's as nutty as our very own Charles Haley if you dig into his mental health issues. As well as s contract demands.

Quinn officially replaced......

Thanks for sharing. I hate all the 1 year deals but this is a great add. This DL has a LOT of PROVEN talent. Proven...been a long time. I expect a massive improvement in pass rush and run stop.

Part of what I like is he isn't just a pass rusher, but is also a pretty solid anchor against the run. He doesn't have Quinn's pure quickness and agility, but he is more of a well rounded DE with his ability to rush the passer and play the run.

Yep.

I think they've managed to get McCoy, Poe, and Griffen for close (save for bonuses anyway) to what they're wasting on Crawford alone.

And they have a combination of corners in free agents like Worley and draft picks like Diggs and Robinson to hopefully carry them through the transition at corner.

I'm tremendously optimistic about this year's team right now.

And I firmly believe that if Garrett had remained coach we would not have seen this type of offseason FA activity.

No way. Because if Garrett had remained, Old Man River would have as well. And Garrett simply deferred to him because he himself didn't know anything.

I was hoping to talk to you regarding Griffen because like me, you were all in for signing him, even moreso. Congratulations to you, feels good to get our guy doesn't it?

He's a slightly lesser version of DLaw due to his age. Well rounded, explosive and relies on technique to defeat blockers. Should be a highly productive and effective DE tandem.

Tenacious effort is what stands out the most for me.

I just remember rewatching the Cowboys-Vikings game from this past season. Griffen was giving Tyron Smith all that he could handle. When you can do that, you're pretty good. And I remember the Vikings defensive line giving the Cowboys offensive line troubles all game long.

The problem at RDE has been so,fed, at least for this year.

Well done front office, well done.

i'm trying to find the full game of Vikes- Cowboys to see Griffen vs Tyron smith per every offensive possession.
Per Jacque Taylor's Whispers from the Stars' his source indicated that Griffen when he is on his game, can be an impact.
